And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.
Let’s imagine, for one moment, placing a Help Wanted advertisement for a Savior?
It might read something like this:
“Shepherd/Savior Needed —Must be willing to become flesh, walk the earth on a mission to save sinners. Has to be without sin, unblemished, and fully capable of performing miracles in every shape way or form, which includes but not limited to; restoring sight to the blind, making cripples walk, cleansing lepers of lesions and sores, ordering demons out from people possessed, praying for all, including enemies, raising people from the dead, preaching the Creator of the Universe’s Word, and able to fulfil the scriptures recorded by prophets given by God, after mission on earth is done, at approximately 33 years of age, go willingly to the cross for sinners, who are unworthy and filthy with transgressions, immoralities, and iniquities, and be crucified for those individuals, one and all…suffer horrendous deeds of scourging, whippings, pulling arms from sockets to hang on the wooden tree, and die a slow agonizing painful death, uttering it is finished, and die, descend into hell, then ascending into heaven, and redeeming humanity, and saving souls for eternal rewards. Apply immediately if interested.”
Do you think anyone of us would answer that call for that brutal job? I would venture to guess that ad would definitely go “unanswered.”
Only ONE answered that call to save.
And thank our caring God for His Son, who ultimately defeated death for us!
And brought us peace, and left us peace, and brought us the Comforter, who never leaves, or deceives, or lets us down, to this very day and beyond.
Do you know the LORD Jesus Christ?
If you don’t just take a look at that advertisement and ask yourself this question, “Would I do that for another human being?” And when you truthfully answer that question in your heart of hearts, you will then begin (if you haven’t already) to grasp the enormity of which God accomplished through His only begotten Son. Amen!
“Father, thank You for Your Son, my LORD and Savior, thank You for Your sacrificing Your Son for me, and for my sins, and for the world’s sins, may I always be in awe of Your Presence, the Comforter within, and the love You have shown me all the days of my life, and to come, in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
