DEAR GOD: Rejoicing in the Journey With You~

Now that we’re in the throes of summertime, here on the Eastern Coast, it is with fond recall, I look back at my long-ago youth.

I heard a song from the 60’s, and it took me back to a “simple time.” The days of walking to the local store, to buy the latest “Nancy Drew” novel, and Archie and Veronica comic books. On my journey to the store, I always held a transistor radio in my hand.

I can see it, and feel those days of innocence, as I sang to the song, “Heat Wave.”  That particular song, when I heard it today,  catapulted me back to those carefree days of my childhood.

I felt happy, content, and joyful, while swinging on a hammock, on the porch with a glass of homemade lemonade.(My mom made the best in the whole neighborhood!)   The school year was over, and the summer, just beginning made me smile.  The fact that my parents cared for me, with tenderness, loved and protected me…was the frosting on the cake.

And there was of course, above all else, the feeling of consummate joy, knowing God was with me, sitting and walking alongside me, throughout my journey of youth.

Just as He was during my teenage years, my young adult years, and now my senior years.

He has been an ever present reality,  all the days of my life.  My faith has increased, along with my age. Like many Christians, I’ve been through adversities; sad times, good times, and uncertain times.  But the unwavering knowledge, of having the Spirit of Jesus, inside me, leading and guiding me, through it all…is spectacularly overwhelmingly fabulous!

To know He is with me on this journey called, “life” —no matter what, is what brings me back from the precipice of various circumstances regarding close friends issues,  various family issues, acquaintances,  and the status of the world overall.

It is He, who has single-handedly, orchestrated all the moments of my life, from conception, through my youth, teenage years, adulthood and now senior years. He is the everything, in my world.  He is, in fact, My world.

The roots of Christianity, run deep, and our Spiritual growth is never ceasing.  Consequently, resulting in our resounding faith, that is rooted in the strong values and foundation of our Rock, Jesus Christ.

Be thankful this day, as we should be everyday, knowing He loves us with an impact that supersedes all else.

Rejoice in Him!

Embrace Him!

Love Him!

He is the way, the truth, and the life.

And quite simply, “without Him” there is NO LIFE!  Amen!

Father, thank you for all the moments of my life, and for being with me no matter what, I know you will be with me today, tomorrow and always, in Jesus name, Amen.”
