Psalms 51:10
KJV
“Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.”
Although this Psalm was written by David, some say after his dealings with Bathsheba and her husband, he was clearly a man after God’s heart. He repented and cried out to the LORD for forgiveness, and a renewal of spirit with a contrite heart. God in His mercy, and compassion heard his servant, and knew that David was sincerely sorry for his actions, and so of course forgave him. King David went on to be one of the greatest Kings in the Bible, and was a direct line to the coming Messiah, Jesus Christ.
This Psalm is a good reminder that we are all “flesh” indeed and therefore subject to the carnality of the world. However it is a good Psalm to read as we delve deeper into the Word with a strong desire to please God. It is a fervent call to those wishing to partake of spirituality on a daily basis, and a call to wanting to be a good servant to the LORD.
“Create in me a clean heart, O God” — a call of longing and yearning to be on par with what we’re called to be, and called to do. This is a cry of “help me LORD for I cannot accomplish this alone. I NEED YOU.”
“And renew a right spirit within me” — crying out for help and support from our almighty and powerful Father to guide our paths while strengthening our resolve to our purpose in life, and to do to the best of our ability, HIS WILL. While asking for forgiveness as we will fall short of perfection, for there is only ONE perfect being.
The LORD will always feed and give you what you need. It is He that puts the yearning and longing to reach further into His Word, it is He that will lead you to higher planes of spirituality, and it is He that will provide and sustain you as you journey deeper and deeper in your walk with Him.
Ask Him for a renewed spirit filled with His perfect peace. His ears are open to those who call for Him with sincerity, that hunger to know Him and to explore our spirituality on a more intimate basis will grow exponentially, if you open the doors of your heart, and surrender to His will…
Amen~

7Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. 8Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. 9Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. 10Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. 11Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. 12Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. 13Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.
