DEAR GOD: You Are The Great Healer For All~

The Healing Touch of Jesus — David Hernandez Ministries

Lamentations 3:13 (ESV):

“He drove into my kidneys the arrows of his quiver.”

Lamentations 3:13 is a vivid and painful metaphor reflecting the intense suffering and anguish experienced by the speaker, traditionally understood to be the prophet Jeremiah. This verse is part of a larger lament where Jeremiah expresses the depth of his affliction and the severity of God’s judgment upon him and his people.

Analysis and Insights

The imagery of arrows being driven into the kidneys conveys a profound sense of pain and devastation. In ancient times, the kidneys were often considered the seat of emotion and moral decision-making, much like the heart is regarded today. Thus, this verse underscores not just physical suffering but also emotional and spiritual torment. The “arrows of his quiver” signify deliberate and targeted acts of judgment, highlighting the personal nature of the suffering Jeremiah describes.

Supportive Scriptures

Job 6:4 (KJV): “For the arrows of the Almighty are within me, the poison whereof drinketh up my spirit: the terrors of God do set themselves in array against me.”

Psalm 38:2 (KJV): “For thine arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand presseth me sore.”

Both Job and the Psalmist use similar imagery to describe their afflictions. These references help to contextualize Jeremiah’s suffering within the broader biblical theme of experiencing God’s discipline and the feelings of being under divine scrutiny and judgment.

Moral Takeaways

  1. Acknowledgment of Suffering: The candid expression of pain in this verse teaches us the importance of acknowledging our suffering. Pretending it doesn’t exist or suppressing it can lead to further emotional and spiritual damage.
  2. Endurance and Faith: Despite the intense suffering, Jeremiah’s laments eventually shift to hope and faith in God’s mercy. This teaches us to hold on to faith even in the darkest times.
  3. Divine Discipline: The verse also reflects the concept of divine discipline. It reminds us that suffering can be a form of correction and growth, and while it is painful, it ultimately leads to a deeper relationship with God.

Reflective Questions

  • How do I respond to suffering and pain in my own life?
  • In what ways can I acknowledge and express my pain to God, seeking His comfort and healing?
  • How can I maintain my faith and hope in God during times of intense suffering and hardship?
  • What lessons can I learn from Jeremiah’s lament about facing and processing deep anguish?
  • How does my understanding of divine discipline shape my perspective on suffering?

Purposeful Prayer

“LORD -We come before You with hearts burdened by the sorrows and sufferings we endure in this life. Just as Jeremiah expressed the depth of his pain, we too bring our afflictions before You. Grant us the strength to endure, the courage to acknowledge our pain, and the faith to trust in Your mercy and healing.

Help us to find hope and comfort in Your presence, even when we feel overwhelmed by suffering. Guide us to learn and grow from these experiences, drawing closer to You and relying on Your grace. May we find peace in knowing that You see our pain and are with us in every trial. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.”

Scripture to Ponder

Psalm 147:3 (KJV): He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.”

Blessing for the Readers

May the Lord bless you with His comforting presence in times of suffering and sorrow. May you find strength, hope, and healing in Him, knowing that He is with you in every trial. Trust in His love and guidance, and let His peace fill your heart.

God Bless You All~

DEAR GOD: We Are Victorious Through You LORD~

Bible Study - Victorious Christian Life

1 John 4:4 (ESV): “Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”

This powerful verse from the Apostle John reminds us of the profound truth of God’s indwelling presence in our lives. It speaks of the immeasurable strength and victory we have through Christ, who resides within us, surpassing any worldly challenges or adversaries we may face.

The Greater One Within Us

Faith and Assurance in Biblical Times
In the early Christian era, believers faced significant persecution and opposition from both religious and governmental authorities. Despite these external pressures, the early Christians held onto their faith with an unwavering assurance that the Holy Spirit within them was far greater than any force in the world. This conviction empowered them to endure trials, spread the gospel, and live boldly for Christ.

Faith in Today’s World
Fast forward to today, and although the nature of our challenges has evolved, the underlying principle remains the same. Christians around the world face various forms of opposition—be it social, political, or personal. The struggle for faithfulness and truth can be daunting in a world that often opposes biblical values. Yet, the promise of God’s greater presence within us holds as true today as it did in the early church.

The Power of the Indwelling Spirit
Understanding that the One who is in us is greater than the one in the world brings immense comfort and strength. It assures us that we are not fighting our battles alone; the Holy Spirit empowers us with divine strength, wisdom, and courage. This presence means that no matter the adversity we face, we can stand firm and confident, knowing that God’s power within us is greater than any external force.

  • Reflective Questions
How does recognizing the greater presence of God within me influence my approach to challenges?
  • In what areas of my life can I rely more on the Holy Spirit’s strength rather than my own?
  • How can I encourage others to remember and rely on the greater One within them?
  • What steps can I take to deepen my relationship with God and be more attuned to His Spirit?
  • How do I respond to worldly pressures, and how can I draw strength from the assurance that God is greater?

Moral Takeaways
Divine Strength: Trust in the power of the Holy Spirit to overcome challenges and temptations.

Faithfulness: Remain steadfast in your faith, knowing that God’s presence within you surpasses any opposition.

Encouragement: Be a source of encouragement to others, reminding them of the greater power that resides within them.

Pondering Thoughts of Faith
Reflecting on the indwelling of the Holy Spirit should inspire profound gratitude and a deepened faith. It’s a reminder that we are never alone in our struggles. With God’s Spirit living in us, we have access to an unending source of strength, wisdom, and love. This knowledge should embolden us to face each day with courage and hope, knowing that we are empowered by the Creator Himself.

Prayer “LORD -thank You for the incredible gift of Your Holy Spirit residing within us. Help us to remember and rely on Your greater presence in our lives, especially during times of challenge and opposition. Strengthen our faith and courage, that we may stand firm in Your truth and love. Guide us to be a light to those around us, reminding them of Your power and presence. May we find comfort and assurance in knowing that You, the greater One, are always with us, empowering us to overcome any obstacle. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.”

Scripture to Ponder
Romans 8:31 (ESV): “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”

Blessing for the Readers

May the Lord’s presence within you fill your heart with peace and strength. Trust in the greater One who resides in you, and let His power guide you through every challenge. May you be a beacon of His love and grace, bringing hope and encouragement to all around you.

God Bless You All~

DEAR GOD: I Put Myself In Your Loving Hands Always~

~I am protected by God~ Isaiah 43:2 NLT 2 When you go through deep ...

Philippians 4:6-7(ESV): “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

This verse stands as a beacon of hope and reassurance in a world often filled with anxiety and uncertainty. Paul, the apostle, writes these words from prison, a testament to his unwavering faith and trust in God’s sovereignty. This passage invites us into a posture of trust and submission to God, urging us to bring all our concerns, no matter how big or small, to Him through prayer and supplication.

Heartfelt Thoughts and Views

These verses resonate deeply with our human experience. Anxiety can feel overwhelming, like a
constant companion that refuses to leave. Yet, Paul instructs us not to be anxious about anything. How can we achieve this? The answer lies in the transformative power of prayer.

When we approach God with our fears, worries, and requests, accompanied by thanksgiving, we open ourselves to His divine intervention.

    myself?

  • How can I incorporate more prayer and supplication into my daily routine?

  • What am I thankful for today, and how can I express that gratitude to God?

DEAR GOD: You Are Unparalleled & My Everything~

Isaiah 25:1, New King James Version (NKJV) | Bible apps, Psalms, Words

In Isaiah 43:11-12, the Lord declares His unique and unparalleled sovereignty: “I, even I, am the Lord; and beside me there is no Saviour. I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore, ye are My witnesses, saith the Lord, that I am God.”

This powerful proclamation reminds us of God’s exclusive role as our Savior and Redeemer. It is a call to recognize His supreme authority and to bear witness to His mighty works. God’s plan and His Omnipotent Power is for all of those who want to “tap into it” by being a follower and believing in His Word and His ways. Our choices in life should be culminative in the overall process of what where when and how we do things. It should incorporate a greater dependence, or more aptly, a full dependence of the LORD.

As we reflect upon His Word and promises, we grow deeper in our roots, becoming more engrafted with Him each day. Our spiritual walk becomes heightened, and we grow closer to the LORD. In so doing, the enemy flees from us. We have the authority given to us in the name of JESUS to thwart the fiery darts in Jesus’ name.

Engaging in an intimate relationship with the LORD not only helps us in our choices and tasks of life itself, but it invariably will bring peace and joy into our hearts irrespective of what we are facing.

The devastation of the recent hurricane Helene and the aftermath is heartbreaking and surreal. So much pain, suffering and angst. Lives lost, and people incapacitated in functioning, because they’ve lost so much.

May God and His Sovereignty and Omnipotence and great power and glory shine over them now, as He heals their land, and their hearts, and their grieving loss.

May His Word and promises bring hope, light and healing to you all.

I pray this reflection on God’s word, peace and promises will bring you comfort during this horrific and disturbing period in your lives. And may the LORD Jehovah Jireh bring laborers, relief workers, and everything that you need during this time, to piece together your broken hearts, and lives due to Helene.

Moral Thoughts and Reflective Questions

  1. Acknowledging God’s Sovereignty: In a world filled with distractions and false idols, it is crucial to remember that there is no Savior besides the LORD. How often do we place our trust in worldly things instead of God? Reflect on areas in your life where you might be relying on something other than God for your security and salvation.
  2. Witnessing God’s Works: As believers, we are called to be witnesses of God’s saving power. How can we share our testimonies of God’s faithfulness with others? Consider ways you can actively testify to God’s goodness in your daily interactions.
  3. Living in a Wicked World: The world around us often promotes values that are contrary to God’s teachings. How can we remain steadfast in our faith and live righteously amidst such influences? Reflect on the importance of staying rooted in Scripture and prayer to navigate the challenges of a sinful world.

Insightful Thinking for Christians Today

  • Trust in God’s Plan: Trusting in God’s plan requires faith, especially when we face trials and uncertainties. Remember that God’s ways are higher than our ways (Isaiah 55:8-9). Reflect on how you can surrender your worries and anxieties to Him, trusting that He is in control.
  • Perseverance in Faith: In times of difficulty, it is easy to lose heart. However, we are encouraged to persevere, knowing that our trials produce endurance and strengthen our faith (James 1:2-4). How can you cultivate a spirit of perseverance in your spiritual journey?
  • Hope in God’s Promises: God’s promises are a source of hope and encouragement. Reflect on His promises in Scripture and how they can uplift you during challenging times. For instance, Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us that God has plans to prosper us and give us hope and a future.

Supportive Scriptures

  • Psalm 46:1: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
  • Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
  • Romans 8:28: “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

Prayer

“LORD- You alone are our Savior, and beside You, there is no other. Help us to trust in Your sovereign plan and to witness Your mighty works in our lives. Strengthen our faith, especially in times of trial, and guide us to live righteously in a world that often strays from Your truth. Fill us with Your Holy Spirit, that we may be bold witnesses of Your grace and mercy. We ask for Your peace to calm our anxieties and Your wisdom to navigate life’s challenges. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.”

Scripture to Ponder and Meditate Upon

Isaiah 41:10 (KJV): “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”

“May the Lord bless you and keep you. May His face shine upon you and be gracious unto you. May He lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace. May you walk in the assurance of His love and the strength of His promises, now and always. In Jesus name, Amen.”

DEAR GOD: You Gift Me With Courage & Your Word~

Courage – 4TheChristianManCourage

Deuteronomy 31:6 is a powerful exhortation and a divine promise that has resonated through the ages: “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” This verse speaks to the heart of human vulnerability and the universal search for strength and companionship in the face of life’s adversities.

The call to be strong and courageous is not merely a command; it is an invitation to trust in the unwavering presence of God. The assurance that the Lord is with us, that He will not leave us nor forsake us, is the foundation upon which our courage is built. It is a reminder that our strength does not come from within ourselves, but from the One who created us and sustains us.

This promise was given to the Israelites as they stood on the brink of entering the Promised Land, a moment filled with both great anticipation and profound uncertainty. Today, we find ourselves standing at the edge of our own challenges, our own moments of transition and decision. The words of Deuteronomy 31:6 continue to offer solace and strength.

Supporting Scriptures:

  • Isaiah 41:10: “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
  • Joshua 1:9: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Reflection Questions:

  • How can the assurance of God’s presence in Deuteronomy 31:6 change the way you face your fears?
  • In what ways have you experienced the strength and courage that comes from trusting in God’s promise to never leave you?
  • How can you apply the principles of this verse to support others who are facing their own battles?

Moral: The moral of Deuteronomy 31:6 is that true courage is not the absence of fear, but the conviction to move forward in spite of fear, knowing that we are never alone. It teaches us that our greatest ally in the face of adversity is the Divine presence that accompanies us, guides us, and provides us with the strength we need to overcome.

“Dear LORD- I thank You for Your promise to be with me always. In moments of fear and uncertainty, remind me to be strong and courageous, For Your presence is my constant source of strength and comfort. Help me to trust in Your faithful companionship, and to extend Your love and support to those around me, In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.”

As you reflect on this beautiful verse – I pray that it will deepen your understanding of Deuteronomy 31:6 and inspire you to live with the courage that comes from the certainty of God’s eternal presence.

The book of Proverbs is a fountain of wisdom, offering guidance and insight for a life well-lived. Among its many pearls, Proverbs 1:7 shines brightly, illuminating the path to true knowledge. This verse serves as a cornerstone, not only for the book itself but for understanding the nature of wisdom and learning.

Fear of the LORD – Reverence-Love

The phrase “the fear of the LORD” is a recurring theme in Biblical literature, encapsulating a profound respect and reverence for the Almighty. It is not a fear born of terror- but one of awe and wonder at the majesty and Holiness of God.

It is the starting point, the very beginning of knowledge, because it positions the heart to receive Divine Inspiring truths. To fear the LORD is to acknowledge His Sovereignty and to submit to His higher wisdom. And to love Him fully and unconditionally, while placing Him first in all we do!

The Beginning of Knowledge

Knowledge, as mentioned in Proverbs, is not merely the accumulation of facts or the mastery of skills. It is a comprehensive understanding of life’s principles as they relate to our Creator’s design. The “beginning” of this knowledge is akin to the foundation of a building; it is the essential and necessary base upon which all other learning is constructed. Without this rock-solid foundation, any structure of knowledge we build is unstable and prone to collapse. Such as illustrated by Jesus in the parable about the wise man builds his house upon a rock, the fool builds it on sand!

Matthew 7:24-27 –“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.  And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.  And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.  And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”

Fools Despise Wisdom and Instruction

In stark contrast to those who fear the LORD, the verse speaks of “fools” who despise wisdom and instruction. The term “fool” in Proverbs does not refer to a lack of intelligence, but to a moral deficiency. It describes individuals who are obstinate and arrogant, rejecting the guidance and correction that wisdom offers. Their disdain for instruction leads them away from the path of knowledge and ultimately to their downfall.

The Value of Divine Wisdom

Divine wisdom, as revealed through the scriptures, is invaluable. It transcends the temporal and touches the eternal, offering insights that are not bound by time or culture. The wisdom that begins with the fear of the LORD is enduring, leading to a life marked by understanding, righteousness, and peace.

In conclusion-

Proverbs 1:7 encapsulates the essence of Biblical wisdom. It teaches us that the fear of the LORD is not only the beginning of knowledge, but also the foundation upon which a meaningful life is built.

“Dear Father God, I come before You in reverence and humility, acknowledging Your infinite wisdom and majesty. I thank You for the gift of Your Word, which lights my path and guides all of my steps daily. Instill in me and your children a fear of the LORD, that is pure, leading to the knowledge and understanding that You desire for me/us. Help me/us to be seekers of Your wisdom, to cherish Your instruction, and to walk in the ways of righteousness. May my life reflect Your love and grace, and may I serve as a beacon of Your light in the darkness. I ask this in the precious name of Jesus, Amen.”
