DEAR GOD: I Walk In Your Light -Darkness No More~

Walking in the Light | Rescue the Perishing Magazine

John 8:12 (NLT)

“Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.’”

This verse is a profound declaration by Jesus, emphasizing His role as the Spiritual light that guides humanity out of darkness. The imagery of light and darkness is a recurring theme in the Bible, symbolizing the contrast between good and evil, truth and falsehood, life and death.

Jesus, as the light of the world, offers clarity, direction, and hope to those who choose to follow Him.

Supportive Scriptures:

Psalm 27:1 (NLT): “The Lord is my light and my salvation—so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble?”

1 John 1:5 (NLT): “This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all.

Matthew 5:14-16 (NLT): “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.”

Moral Thoughts:

The moral implications of this verse are profound. By declaring Himself as the light of the world, Jesus invites us to live in truth and righteousness. Following Jesus means rejecting the darkness of sin and embracing a life of integrity, compassion, and love. It is a call to be a tower of hope and goodness in a world that often feels overshadowed by despair and evil, and continuous chaos.

Meditative Thoughts:

As we meditate on this verse, we can reflect on the ways Jesus has illuminated our own lives. How has His light guided us through difficult times? How has it revealed truths about ourselves and the world around us? Meditating on Jesus as the light of the world can bring a sense of peace and assurance, knowing that we are never alone in our journey.

Reflective Questions:

  1. In what areas of my life do I need the light of Jesus to shine more brightly?
  2. How can I be a light to others, reflecting the love and truth of Jesus in my daily interactions?
  3. What steps can I take to ensure that I am walking in the light and not in darkness?

Heartfelt Love for the Lord:

Our love for the Lord is deepened by recognizing His unwavering love for us. Jesus, the light of the world, willingly entered our darkness to bring us into His marvelous light. His love is sacrificial, pure, and eternal. As we grow in our relationship with Him, our hearts overflow with gratitude and love for the One who has redeemed us.

Prayer:

“Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Jesus, the light of the world, to guide us out of darkness and into Your glorious light. Help us to follow Him faithfully, allowing His light to transform our lives and shine through us to others. May we be beacons of hope, love, and truth in a world that desperately needs Your light. Strengthen our hearts and deepen our love for You each day. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.”

Scripture to Ponder for the Day:

Psalm 119:105 (NLT): “Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.”

May this verse remind you of the guiding light of God’s word in your life today, God Bless you~

DEAR GOD: Here I am For You Not The World~

Alleluia to the Lamb by Kim Coleman - YouTube

 Corinthians 6:14-18 ESV

Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever? What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, “I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Therefore, go out from their midst, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch no unclean thing; then I will welcome you, and I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty.”

Go out and separate from them, “says the LORD.” Did you ever take the time to realize what that means? Today in this vastly unstable and impure world, it can apply to almost all we encounter on a daily basis. God is telling us to be an example and set forth on the right path and establish ourselves as followers in all we do and say. Although we are in the world, we are not “of the world” and all it enforces in terms of immorality and salaciousness.

We are to be different and that is not to say, “high and mighty” because NO ONE is. There is only One pure and Mighty One, and that is the LORD.  What we need to do is be on guard, don’t take interest in superficial things or things of ill gotten measures in entertainment or otherwise, but in things of godly nature.

We are not to “repel” and think we are better than others, again we are not. We are to present our light to those we encounter and to represent Christ in all we do, say, think, and feel.

Eventually things that are not godly or pure will be like “poison to your soul” and you will shrink away from it. Things that are foul and unsightly and vulgar, will be like an electric shock to your soul. As we get deeper into a relationship with the LORD and we connect our spirit with His Spirit more intimately, we become less enamored of the world, but more enamored of Him and His ways. It’s a natural transformation.

Today, as you go out and do what you need to do…shine your light, stand up and be a faithful follower and be an example to others of what a Christian is all about.

“Father, may I do all according to Your will today, may I be a humble servant and example of Your light, and may I never stray from Your Word, in Jesus’ name, Amen.”

DEAR GOD: Your Water & Light Complete Me~

The Stream of Living Water

God is the source of all life and light. He created the sun, the moon, and the stars to illuminate the earth and to mark the seasons and times. He also created the sea and the sky and filled them with living creatures.

He is the fountain of life, and in His light, we see light. He gives us living water, which is His Spirit, to quench our thirst and to cleanse us from our sins.

He is the light of the world, and whoever follows Him will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.

He is the basis of all things for all things, humans, creatures, nature and otherwise. In Him we have a sanctuary and an everlasting protective armor. With Him we can accomplish things with relative ease through His power and name. Without Him we are baseless in all we endeavor, which is to say it’s an exercise in futility, we won’t be able to do anything in the way we would with Him in our lives.

His everlasting Light and His Living waters complete me as it should all of His followers and those of faith.

When you see the Light from sun, whom do you think of?

When you see the rushing moving water, who do think of?

“Dear LORD, Your Light, Your Living Water, and Your love complete me, in Jesus’ name, Amen.”

And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky.”
