DEAR GOD: Hope Everlasting In Your Promises And Word~

God’s Everlasting Word!

God’s Hope and Everlasting Word

In a world filled with uncertainties and challenges, the hope and everlasting word of God stand as a beacon of light and assurance. God’s love for His children is unwavering, and His promises are eternal. Through His word, we find guidance, comfort, and the promise of salvation. This essay explores the profound hope found in God’s word, His enduring love, and the light and salvation He offers to all who believe.

God’s Love for His Children

God’s love for His children is a central theme throughout the Bible. In John 3:16, we read, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” This verse encapsulates the depth of God’s love, a love so profound that He sacrificed His only Son for our salvation. God’s love is not conditional; it is a steadfast and unchanging love that embraces us in our moments of joy and sorrow.

God’s Promises That Never End

The promises of God are a source of hope and strength. In Jeremiah 29:11, God declares, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” This promise reassures us that God has a purpose for our lives, and His plans are for our good. God’s promises are not fleeting; they are eternal and trustworthy. In Isaiah 40:8, we are reminded, “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.”

God’s Light and Salvation

God’s word is a light that guides us through the darkest times. In Psalm 119:105, it is written, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” God’s word illuminates our path, providing direction and clarity. Through His word, we find the promise of salvation. In Romans 10:9, we are assured, “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” This promise of salvation is a testament to God’s grace and mercy.

Moral Takeaways

  1. Trust in God’s Love: God’s love is unwavering and unconditional. Trust in His love, knowing that He cares for you deeply.
  2. Hold on to God’s Promises: God’s promises are eternal and trustworthy. Hold on to them, especially in times of uncertainty.
  3. Seek God’s Light: Let God’s word guide you. In moments of darkness, seek His light and find comfort in His guidance.

Reflective Questions

  1. How have you experienced God’s love in your life?
  2. What promises of God have given you hope and strength?
  3. How can you let God’s word be a light in your daily walk?

Meditative Thoughts

Take a moment to meditate on Psalm 23:1-3: “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.” Reflect on how God provides, leads, and restores you.

Prayer

“Dear Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your unwavering love and eternal promises. In times of uncertainty, help us to trust in Your word and find hope in Your promises. Guide us with Your light and lead us on the path of righteousness. May we always remember Your love and grace. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.”

Thoughts to Ponder

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” – Psalm 119:105. How can you let God’s word illuminate your path today?

Trusting in God's Great Faithfulness | Sermons | The Living Word ...

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.” – Jeremiah 17:7-8 (ESV)

 Commentary:

Jeremiah 17:7-8 beautifully illustrates the profound blessings that come from placing our trust in the Lord. The metaphor of a tree planted by water signifies stability, nourishment, and resilience. 1. Psalm 1:3 (ESV):

“He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.”

Like a tree planted by the water, may we draw deeply from Your living waters, remaining steadfast and fruitful even in times of drought. People’s Hope and Ability for God to Heal Them Instantly

DEAR GOD: Embracing Trials With Joy~

Message: “Finding Joy in Trials” from Joe Bolduc | East Brandywine ...Count it all joy, my brothers,[a] when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.  James 1:2-4

______________________________________________________

Embracing Trials with Joy

In the book of James, we find a profound and challenging exhortation: “Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing” (James 1:2-4). This passage invites us to adopt a counterintuitive perspective on life’s difficulties, encouraging us to see trials not as burdens, but as opportunities for growth and spiritual maturity.

Moral Views and Takeaways

  1. Joy in Adversity: The primary message of this verse is to find joy in the midst of trials. This joy is not a superficial happiness but a deep-seated contentment that comes from trusting in God’s purpose. It challenges us to shift our focus from the pain of the present to the potential for growth and transformation.
  2. Testing and Growth: Trials are described as tests of faith that produce steadfastness. This steadfastness, or perseverance, is essential for spiritual maturity. Just as physical exercise strengthens our bodies, spiritual trials strengthen our faith, making us more resilient and steadfast in our walk with God.
  3. Completeness in Christ: The ultimate goal of enduring trials is to become “perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” This does not imply a state of flawlessness but rather a wholeness and maturity in Christ. It is through enduring and overcoming challenges that we become more like Christ, fully equipped for every good work.

Reflective Questions

  1. How do I typically respond to trials and difficulties in my life? Do I see them as opportunities for growth or merely as obstacles?
  2. In what ways can I cultivate a deeper sense of joy and contentment, even in the midst of challenging circumstances?
  3. How can I support others who are going through trials, helping them to see the potential for growth and transformation?

Supportive Scriptures

  • Romans 5:3-4: “Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope.”
  • 1 Peter 1:6-7: “In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”
  • Philippians 4:4: “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice.”

“Dear Heavenly Father- we come before You with hearts open to Your wisdom and guidance. We thank You for the trials and challenges that come our way, knowing that they are opportunities for growth and transformation. Help us to find joy in the midst of adversity, trusting in Your perfect plan for our lives. Strengthen our faith and perseverance, that we may become mature and complete in Christ. Grant us the grace to support and encourage one another, reflecting Your love and compassion. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.”

Handling Issues Today

As Christians, we are called to handle life’s issues with faith, hope, and love. In today’s world, this means:

  1. Trusting in God’s Sovereignty: Believing that God is in control and has a purpose for every trial we face.
  2. Seeking Community: Leaning on the support of fellow believers, sharing our burdens, and encouraging one another.
  3. Practicing Gratitude: Focusing on the blessings in our lives and maintaining a thankful heart, even in difficult times.
  4. Living Out Our Faith: Demonstrating our trust in God through our actions, showing love and compassion to those around us.

By embracing these principles, we can navigate the challenges of life with grace and steadfastness, growing ever closer to the image of Christ.

DEAR GOD: So Safe In Your Shadow~

Psalm 91:4 (KJV) — Today's Verse for Tuesday, October 9, 2007

LORD GOD MY REFUGE & MY PROTECTOR

Psalm 91 is a beautiful and reassuring passage that speaks of God’s protection, comfort, and care for those who trust in Him. Let’s delve deeper into this psalm, focusing on the second verse and its broader themes, and how it pertains to God’s children this every day!

Psalm 91: Dwelling in the Secret Place

Psalm 91 is often called the “Soldier’s Psalm” or the “Psalm of Protection.” It provides a powerful reminder of God’s unwavering love and shelter for His people.  It is a very powerful and reasuring psalm for Christians and those of faith – as it certainly outlines and defines God’s unwavering love and support for us, His children.

Verse 1-2: Dwelling in the Secret Place

“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust.’”
(Psalm 91:1-2)

The Secret Place:

Imagine a hidden chamber within God’s dwelling—a place of intimacy and safety. When we dwell there, we experience His presence and protection. However, no matter where we are or what we are doing, God’s portection looms large and consistently of those who follow Him, and His Word. Those who put their faith in Him and those who love Him fully and completely!

The Shadow of the Almighty:

This phrase suggests nearness. Just as we walk close to a companion to feel their shadow, we can draw near to God and find refuge in His shadow. Everyone near to God is in His shadow – His shadow a significant covering for those who seek Him and His love. His Presence is with us as we go through our life each day, and this Psalm is a special reminder of His Omnipotence and His Sovereign Power!

Reflections and Questions

  • Where is your secret place with God? -Consider moments when you’ve felt closest to Him—during prayer, worship, or quiet reflection.
  • How does God’s protection impact your daily life? -Reflect on times when you’ve sensed His shelter during challenges or trials.

Verse 9-16: God’s Promises

“Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge, even the Most High, your dwelling place, no evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling.” (Psalm 91:9-10, NKJV)

  • God’s Promises: He assures us of safety, deliverance, and victory. We are not exempt from difficulties, but God’s Glorious Presence sustains us.
  • Angelic Protection: His Angels guard us, ensuring our safety. Their presence reminds us that God fights on our behalf.

Unity Prayer

“Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You for being our refuge and fortress. As we dwell in Your secret place, shield us from harm and fear. May we trust You completely, knowing that no evil can prevail against us. Send Your heavenly host of angels to watch over us and grant us courage to face life’s challenges, In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.”

Meditative Thoughts

God’s shadow: Imagine standing under the protective shadow of a mighty oak tree. God’s shadow is a gazillion times more secure and then some!

Walking in faith: Trusting God means walking closely with Him, allowing His Shadow to fall upon us. And to feel comfort and secure in His Presence!

May you meditate and pause for reflection on Psalm 91 -and may it strengthen your faith and remind you of God’s unfailing love-always. 🙏

DEAR GOD: May We All Have A Spirit Of Giving Like The Widow

Whose Recognition Do You Seek? — Watchtower ONLINE LIBRARYThe Widow’s Mite: A Lesson in Sacrificial Giving

In the Gospel of Mark, we encounter a poignant tale of a poor widow who, in the act of giving two small copper coins, teaches us a profound lesson about the heart of giving. The verse in question, Mark 12:41-44, describes Jesus observing the crowd as they put money into the temple treasury. Many wealthy people threw in large amounts, but a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents.

Jesus calls His disciples to Him and says, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.

This act of the widow is not just a lesson in generosity, but a call to sacrificial giving. It contrasts the widow’s offering with that of the rich, highlighting the disparity not in the amount, but in the sacrifice. Supporting verses that echo this sentiment include 2 Corinthians 9:7, which encourages each person to give what they have decided in their heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Moral Reflections

The widow’s mite invites us to reflect on our own giving. Are we giving just from our abundance, or are we willing to give in a way that truly costs us something? Luke 21:1-4 parallels the account in Mark and serves as a mirror, reflecting our own attitudes towards material possessions and the act of giving.

Reflective Questions

  • How does the widow’s act of giving challenge your current understanding of generosity?
  • In what ways can you practice sacrificial giving in your own life, even if it goes unnoticed by others?

Closing Prayer In Unity

“Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You humbled by the lesson of the widow’s mite. Teach us to give, not just from our surplus, but sacrificially, with a heart full of love and devotion. May our offerings, no matter how small they seem, be a sweet aroma to You. Grant us the courage to trust in Your provision, as the widow trusted in Your care. Help us to remember that it is not the magnitude of our gift, but the magnitude of our faith that truly matters to You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

May this Biblical narrative invite us to explore the theme of giving and its deeper implications on our moral and spiritual lives. I hope this resonates with you and offers the reflection and inspiration that we all need as Christians…

DEAR GOD: Unwavering Love & Loyalty to You~~

God WILL reward you for being steadfast and loyal to HIS calling no ...

Naomi’s Unwavering Loyalty and Dedication:

Naomi’s story, as told in the Book of Ruth, is a profound example of loyalty and dedication. Despite the loss and hardship she faced, her steadfastness and faithfulness shine through, providing us with a timeless example of godly character.

Naomi’s Loyalty to Her Family Naomi’s dedication to her family is evident in her concern for her daughters-in-law after the death of her sons. She urges them to return to their own families, yet her selfless love is met with Ruth’s famous declaration of loyalty:

  • “And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God” (Ruth 1:16-17).

Scriptural Foundations of Loyalty

The Bible speaks volumes about loyalty, often tying it to faith and righteousness:

  • “A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity” (Proverbs 17:17).
  • “Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good” (Romans 12:9).

Naomi’s Dedication to God

Naomi’s dedication to God is implicit in her actions and her nurturing of Ruth, leading to Ruth’s conversion and ultimate role in the lineage of David and Jesus Christ:

  • “He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour” (Proverbs 21:21).

Reflecting on Naomi’s Example

Naomi’s story encourages us to examine our own lives and loyalties. Are we as dedicated to our family, friends, and faith as Naomi was?

Heartfelt Message

Naomi’s journey from loss to redemption is a testament to the power of steadfast love and faith. Her story is a beacon of hope, reminding us that through loyalty and dedication, we can overcome the greatest of adversities.

Reflection Questions

  • How can we emulate Naomi’s loyalty in our own relationships?
  • In what ways can we show dedication to our faith amidst trials?

Naomi’s Steadfastness in Adversity

The Trials of Naomi

Naomi’s life was marked by profound loss, including the death of her husband and sons. Yet, in the face of such sorrow, she remained a pillar of strength and resilience. Her unwavering faith in God is a testament to her character:

  • “But Ruth clave unto her. And she said, Behold, thy sister in law is gone back unto her people, and unto her gods: return thou after thy sister in law. And Ruth said, Entreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee…” (Ruth 1:14-16 KJV).

The Loyalty of Ruth

Ruth’s loyalty to Naomi, even in the midst of her own grief, is a powerful example of the bonds that can form when we dedicate ourselves to others. Ruth’s decision to stay with Naomi led to her becoming part of God’s plan for redemption:

  • “Whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God” (Ruth 1:16 KJV).

The Reward of Faithfulness

The story of Naomi and Ruth culminates in the restoration and blessing of Naomi’s family line. It is a beautiful illustration of how loyalty and dedication can lead to divine blessings:

  • “So Boaz took Ruth, and she was his wife: and when he went in unto her, the Lord gave her conception, and she bare a son… And Naomi took the child, and laid it in her bosom, and became nurse unto it” (Ruth 4:13,16 KJV).

The Call to Dedication

The Bible calls us to a life of dedication, not only to our loved ones but also to God’s will and purpose for our lives. This dedication is often expressed through service and obedience:

  • “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service” (Romans 12:1 KJV).

The Fruits of Dedication

When we dedicate our lives to God and His commandments, we are promised life, righteousness, and honor. This promise is not just for the life to come, but it begins here and now:

  • “He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour” (Proverbs 21:21 KJV).

Closing Prayer

“Heavenly Father, I thank You for the example of Naomi. May I learn from her loyalty and dedication and apply these virtues in my own life, as I present You and Your love, and shine Your light towards others as I do all according to Your plans and will for my life, in Jesus’ name, Amen.”

DEAR GOD: YES-I TRUST YOU!

Proverbs 3:5-6 #17 'Trust in the Lord with all your Heart' Bible Verse

Trusting in God is a vital aspect of the Christian faith. The Bible is full of verses that encourage us to rely on God’s promises, power, and love. Herewith are just some of the verses that I find inspiring, along with my own comments.

Proverbs 3:5-61: “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

This verse reminds me that God knows better than I do what is best for me. He has a plan for my life, and I can trust Him to guide me in the right direction. He knows what I need and how much I can stand in any given situation. So, He will lead me on the correct path each and every time. TRUST HIM!

Romans 8:281: “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

This verse assures me that God is in control of everything that happens in my life. He can use even the most difficult situations for my good and His glory. He has a purpose for me, and I can trust Him to fulfill it. He is always on a level that far exceeds our understanding with unimpeded vision. TRUST HIM!

1 Peter 5:72: “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”

This verse invites me to release all my worries and fears to God. He cares about me and my problems. He is able to handle them and help me through them. There isn’t anything He can’t do or will do for me. He loves me with a love that is all consuming and powerful. He wants me to trust Him with all my concerns. TRUST HIM!

Philippians 4:6-72: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

This verse teaches me how to trust God in every single possible situation and beyond. I can pray to Him and tell Him what I need. I can also thank Him for what He has done and what He will do. He will give me His peace, which is beyond my what my mortal brain can completely absorb or comprehend. He will protect my heart and mind from doubt and fear. TRUST HIM!

Psalm 18:21: “The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”

This verse describes God as my ultimate source of security and strength. He is my Rock, which means He is stable and reliable. He is my Fortress, which means He is my protection and Defense. He is my Deliverer, which means He is my Rescuer and Liberator. He is my Refuge, Shield, Horn, and Stronghold, which means He is my Shelter, Support, Power, and Safety. I can trust Him in any situation, because He is always there for me. TRUST HIM!

When you read the Bible are you fully engaged with the LORD? Do you feel His love and trust Him fully, and surrender yourself to Him, openly and completely?

I hope these verses and comments help you to trust God more and more. He is faithful and trustworthy, and He loves you very much.

“Father, I trust You with all of my heart and soul and mind and strength, I am Yours now and always, and I fully trust You in all I do, and know that You are my Rock and Protector and My Savior, in Jesus’ name, Amen.”

DEAR GOD: I’m Hoping to Please You in All Things~

Isaiah 50:7 For the Lord God will help me; therefore, shall I not be confounded: therefore, have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.

The clearer way perhaps to interpret this passage might be best rendered this way, “The LORD Jehovah helps me, and I’m not ashamed. And because I’m not ashamed and because of the LORD’s help, I am determined to endeavor all that is before me in God’s name and Spirit.

We are all servants of the LORD. We sometimes might have issues, but as servants we may face inflexible circumstances, but it’s the LORD who can resolve these things, if we surrender and acquiesce to His will and ways.

A situation can quickly get out of control and snowball into a huge confrontation if not handled correctly. There needs to be a tone of confidence, sprinkled with a measure of docility, and a patient endurance.

There is a combination of being two things. As Jesus said, in Matthew 10:16 –“be wise as the serpent, but gentle as a dove.”  What a striking contrast between those two images. One is a side winder in all aspects of “charm and ambiguity” – while the other is clearly apparent, soft and gentle in approach and character.

One can be a mixture of a warrior and saint. It takes the right amount of each to make it a successful recipe overall. One is easy, the other is rough.  Submit to God in all resistance in the face of hostile individuals.

The unique camaraderie Christians share is the way we are called to be “over comers” in all our paths. We are called to a realm of reality in perfect union with Christ. We are followers and subscribe to His Word and ways.

When we align to His Will and not our own, trust in Him fully, acknowledge Him and love Him and turn from evil, we will experience health and peace deep within our very souls (Proverbs 3:5-8).

We are here for a moment in time but we can do all that is expected of us during this precious period of being on earth. We can acquire so many accomplishments in our flesh bodies.  We have jobs to do. All varied, all of equal importance, and all according to Him and His ways.

When we do things, we need to realize that God sees all.

God knows all.

And most important part of this equation, God loves us.

When we go with an attitude of “hoping to please God” you know what happens? We probably are doing just that.

“Father God, may I always acknowledge You, trust You, and follow the path in which You guide me, in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
