Genuine Conversion By The Resurrection Of Christ – Dale Buchanan
“The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him. (1Peter 3:21-22 KJV)
Verse 20 talks about eight souls saved by water and verse 21 talks about a ‘like figure’ being saved by water. It is the Greek word “antitupos”. It is a corresponding type or picture. The safety given by the ark as it floated on the water corresponds to baptism, which pictures the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Baptism is a type or figure or picture of genuine salvation, but it is not salvation. Just as Moses’ tabernacle on earth was a type corresponding to the real tabernacle in heaven (cf. Hebrews 9:23-24), the souls saved by water in the safety of the ark and baptism correspond to the genuine salvation secured by the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It was not the putting away of the filth of the flesh – that is – not self-reformation or good works. It was the answer of a good conscience toward God – all of grace. Jesus’ shed blood covers our sins, and we have assurance in our hearts. His blood purged our conscience from dead works so we can serve the living God (cf. Hebrews 9:14).
We can boldly claim assurance of Christ’s gift of salvation. Jesus had victory over sin, death and the grave when He rose from the dead and ascended to a position of authority on the right hand of God.

Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast. Psalm 57 (KJV)
In the quiet of the morning, when the sun’s first rays kiss the dew-laden grass, there lays a refuge—a sacred place where the soul finds solace. It is the shadow of God’s wings, a shelter woven from grace and mercy. Psalm 57 paints this sanctuary with words that resonate across time and faiths, inviting us to seek refuge in the Divine embrace.
The psalmist pleads for mercy, not once but twice. “Be merciful unto me, O God,” they cry, their soul anchored in trust. In this plea, we find the essence of Christian values: humility, dependence, and unwavering faith. To seek God’s mercy is to acknowledge our frailty, our need for redemption. It is to recognize that our refuge lies not in our own strength but in the shadow of His wings.
As Christians, we are called to extend this mercy to others—to be channels of grace in a world parched by judgment. Our values are rooted in compassion, forgiveness, and love. We recognize that we, too, are wounded souls seeking shelter. When we show mercy, we mirror the heart of our Heavenly Father.
We too, face our lions—the doubts, fears, and uncertainties that prowl within. But like the psalmist, we can find refuge. We can choose to lift our eyes beyond the pitfall and fix them on the exalted God. Our reflective thoughts become prayers, whispered in the secret places of our souls. We cry out, “Awake, O glory! Awake, psaltery and harp!” Our worship becomes defiance against despair.
“Dear LORD, In the shadow of Your wings, we find safety. When calamities threaten to overwhelm us, be our refuge. As we cry out, may Your mercy descend like morning dew. Save us from reproach, O God most high. Let our hearts be fixed on You, unwavering. May our lives sing praises, even in the darkest hour, may we exalt Your name above the heavens, above all the earth — in Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Colossians 3:23 ‘Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward.’ (ESV)
Much of our day to day work is thankless and goes unnoticed by others. When we work day in day out, and no one seems to notice, we would do well to remember that we are really working for the audience of One. It is for the LORD God we work and ultimately our reward for faithful service in our work will come from Him. Work for His pleasure alone.
When we find ourselves in a state of dissatisfaction and restlessness, when work seems a drag and a chore, consider where our focus has shifted. Self is probably sitting square in the centre of our woe. Our attention has probably shifted off Christ and the joy of obedience to Him through loving service to others. Ministry is never about us. We forget that so quickly. It’s about glorifying God in whatever context that looks like for us.
It is our LORD God who has graciously chosen and provided our work. When we sit contentedly with His Sovereign design for our work, we can accept the ups and downs, the days of joy and the days of discouragement as all part of His will and good pleasure for us.
Does your work proclaim the goodness of God? Is your work – all your work – an act of submission and worship to God? Do we work heartily and joyfully unto the Lord before striving to please others? Only when we can answer yes will our work be worthy of the LORD.

God, our strength, is not a distant fortress but an intimate refuge. When the tempests rage, we find solace in His embrace. He is our bulwark against adversity, our shelter in the wilderness. Imagine the psalmist, standing on the precipice of fear, declaring, “I will sing!” His song echoes through time, a melody of trust and gratitude.
Our hearts, too, can sing. Amid trials, illness, and uncertainty, we lift our voices. We remember His faithfulness—the countless times He shielded us, whispered courage, and turned our tears into testimonies. Our defense is not a mere concept; it is a symphony of grace.
To recognize God as our defense is to relinquish self-sufficiency. We lay down our feeble shields—the armor of pride, and control. How to Overcome Evil – Michael Edwards
Many of us read the Bible on a regular basis. But, do we follow God’s instructions that have been given for our benefit? Or do we read the Word and go off and forget what it says? If we are reading the Word and not doing what it says, are we truly honoring God? I think quite often when we do not hear an answer from God to our prayer, it is because the answer is plainly written in His Word already and we have simply chosen to not obey what we have read. If you are having problems with other people in your life and have prayed to God for help and guidance, the answer could very well be in obeying what is written below.
14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited.
17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,’ says the Lord. 20 On the contrary:
“If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.
In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.”
21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
It is only in a close personal relationship with Jesus, abiding in Him, that we can truly walk as Jesus did.

My Amazon Driver Accepted Jesus on 5-4-24 – Michael Edwards
So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. Rom 10:17 NAS
Tyler is one of the drivers we have for Amazon. I saw him one day dropping off a package and wished I had talked to him about Jesus, but that day I was too late. I always try to be prepared and few days later, when I saw him again, I grabbed a copy of a book I give out and went out to greet him. I discovered that Tyler is a nice young man about 24 years old. After a comment or two in the natural, I switched to the spiritual and asked him if he had any faith in Christ. I found out he had gone to church some with his family when he was younger. I talked to him a bit more and gave him the book and encouraged him to read it.
On 5-4-24, I saw the Amazon van again. It took a while, so I went out to the open side door and said hello. It was Tyler again. He was searching for our package. He greeted me and told me he was reading the book. I knew he was busy, but I asked him if he had just three minutes so I could explain more to him about why he needed Jesus. He said yes with a big smile, I have time.
So, I took Tyler through the good person test, a test you need to learn that uses the law as a mirror to show us how we look before God apart from Jesus. Almost everyone thinks they are a good person because they compare themselves to other people they see as worse. But other people are not God’s standard.
Tyler failed the test and admitted he would be guilty and headed to hell if he died that day. He confessed that it really concerned him. Then I asked Him if he knew what God did so he did not have to go to hell and offered him the gospel. Tyler repented and trusted in Jesus right there on the spot. Pray for him, I’ll follow up.

The Next Right Thing – Jennifer Woodley
‘So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.’ James 4:17 (ESV)
These words come as a strong rebuke for those of us who often can’t be bothered or don’t feel like doing something or perhaps say that we will get around to it tomorrow. Our LORD does not excuse laziness, apathy and procrastination. The sin of neglect and omission for things that we know need to be done are undoubtedly sins not pleasing to God.
We cannot carry on humouring ourselves into thinking that our failure to attend to what is right is permissible. It is not. When we fully understand in our heart that all sin is a putrid offence to God, we will be eager to flee it and chase hard after only what pleases Him, doing the next right thing all the time.
Let’s be encouraged by the words of James 3:13, ‘Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom.’ Just as James exhorts us to not fail to do the right thing, he encourages us to show understanding by having right conduct full of meekness and wisdom. Right, godly living demonstrated by acts of faith and love is our best choice that results in peace and joy and always brings pleasure to our Father.
‘Dear LORD, forgive me for apathy, laziness and procrastination, sins that offend you and hurt both myself and others. Holy Spirit please stir me to be zealous for good works that bring blessing to others and pleasure to my Heavenly Father. Amen.’

Is There Such a Thing as a Violent Christian Drunkard? – Michael Edwards
Can a person be a true Christian and be a drunkard at the same time? Many would say “no” and claim they are a false convert.
Can a person be a true believer if they are: out of control, not respectable or hospitable, insubordinate, living a debauched lifestyle, violent and not gentle, quarrelsome and a lover of money, unable to manage their household, quick-tempered and arrogant, the husband of more than one wife?
Again, many, if not most, would say “no”, and claim they are not a true believer.
Yet, we learn something interesting when Paul describes who the church should choose out of their family of believers to be a Deacon, Elder or overseer. When Paul states that believers with the characteristics in the following verses are not qualified to be leaders, he is telling us that the early church had believers with these sins. After all, if everyone in the early church was a perfect law-keeper, and the pinnacle of morality, as some insist real Christians are, there would be no need to morally qualify, test and prove blameless, a person seeking these offices. In the following verses, Paul tells the church that when they look at their group of believers, those with certain character defects should not be chosen as leaders of the group.
The saying is trustworthy: If anyone aspires to the office of overseer, he desires a noble task. Therefore, an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not a drunkard, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his own household well, with all dignity keeping his children submissive, for if someone does not know how to manage his own household, how will he care for God’s church? 1Tim 3:1-5 ESV
Of course, in the verses we just read, Paul advises that only believers who are sound in the faith and walk morally upright should be selected as leaders. However, there is no doubt from Paul’s statements that many believers in the church had a long way to go.

Like Paul, the author agrees that grace is not an excuse to sin. We should always do the next right thing. He agrees with 1 Cor 13:8-10 and Gal 5:14, love is the only thing that can fulfill the law.

Revelation 22:12 – “Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done.” NASB
When a Christian is totally connected with the LORD many things begin to become transparent on their journey. There is a “lighter” feeling and a self-confidence that begins to soar where it wouldn’t have before their journey with God.
As we read His Word and begin to incorporate His commandments into our way of living, things have a way of “opening” up in a seemingly easy manner, as opposed to a non-believer.
How do I know this? From firsthand experience in life, by being in the Medical/Social Services field in Nursing Homes as Director of these facilities. I’ve witnessed many bedside deaths. From my personal in-depth analysis, those who believed and had an intimate and close relationship with Christ, died a peaceful death, compared to those who did not know God.
For one thing, those who knew and followed God weren’t fearful, and they were at “peace” with knowing where they were going, once they left this earth. They were anxious to meet God and happy to know their days in pain and old age were almost over.
Matthew 5:12 – Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. NASB
They also shared another common characteristic. All had a calm demeanor that was very welcoming to all they encountered and offered words of love about Jesus’ Gospel. It all comes down to commitment and love for God. We need to apply the character of Christ into what we do, where we go, and our personal choices. The choices we make in this lifetime follow us into the next! It’s that simple—really.
Do you believe in the LORD? His Word, promises and His love? Brothers and sisters, it makes all the difference in this world, and it will make ALL the difference in the NEXT world. Amen!

It’s important to remember that God’s love guides us through the most difficult times. God is with us! It’s a matter of seeking Him and taking the time to meditate and think, “what would You have me do LORD? – What is it I am supposed to be doing at this time? – How can I apply Your Word to my situation at this very moment in time?” When we delve into His Word, and ask for guidance and His wisdom, He will respond in kind. It may not be instantaneous, but He will provide the answers, and direction according to His timetable, not ours. So, patience is an important component and aspect to finding answers.
Deuteronomy 31:6 – Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
He will never disappoint, and He is why we live and breathe. He is giving us a commandment to “be strong and of good courage” in Deuteronomy 31:6, and that should be good enough for us! HIS WORD, and His promise. We are never alone!
Isaiah 41:10 – Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
God continuously commands us not to fear, that He’s with us! How can we possibly do otherwise? If God TELLS us to be courageous, Listen!
Zephaniah 3:17 – The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.
God’s love for us is unapparelled. Knowing that He loves us (John 3:16) is the best gift of all.
A life with our LORD and Savior is the only life worth living!

Stop Deceiving Yourself in 2024 –

My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do. Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless.
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
James 1:19-27 ESV
James lists several things God states we should do, for our own good. In verse 22, he makes his main point. If we are just reading the Word but not doing what it says, we are deceiving ourselves. We are not going to truly benefit from the Word if we do not do the Word. In many places, Paul tells us to put God’s teaching into practice for our own benefit and other writers emphasize this too.
Instead of focusing on how much or how little of the Word we read this New Year, we could commit to putting it into practice one point at a time until it becomes second nature. One of these might be a great start:
…have faith and do not doubt… Matt 21:21 ESV
You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Isaiah 26:3 (ESV) (see Philippians 4:8)—-walk by faith, not by sight 2 Cor 5:7 ESV.
May this New Year be our blessed year of total transformation as we do God’s Word.

Paul’s Prayer for You as a Believer
“For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love,may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” Eph 3:14-21 NIV
I think it is obvious that Paul would pray the same prayer for us today as believers. He is praying that we would be rooted and established in love so we can grasp the depth of Christs love for us. To know His love that surpasses knowledge. The end result of this knowledge is that we then would be filled with the fullness of God.
Realizing how much our Father loves us is so crucial to our victory in this life, to walking in the spirit instead of the flesh. He knows everything we have ever done or will do, yet His love for us is a steadfast love that endures forever.
Do you realize how much God loves you? Do you realize the great length your Father went to save you? You are loved more than you can imagine. Focus on His love and let Him set you free.
There is nothing greater than the love your Father has for you.

To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.” Isaiah 61:3 (NKJV)
When we’re well acquainted with the LORD’s promises, and His voice, we can endeavor to overtake and undertake all kinds of circumstances. That obviously pertains to both good and bad times and all of those in between times.
Through so many “dark times” in which I’ve lost grandparents, parents, best friend, acquaintances and our fur baby—There was one common denominator in all of the sad times…God had been there non-stop.
Just as I know He’s there for you right this moment. He’s been with us all along. His promises are real, secure, and never ending. Especially His love.
He has given me bouquet upon bouquet of beauty, for my clenched fists full of ashes. And He will do the same for you. But how we manage to get through it is what it’s all about.
When we embrace, and realize God is ever faithful, same today as yesterday, or tomorrow—and realize His promises are true—We can certainly get through life.
He promises us “beauty for our ashes,” as He did with Joseph, with Ruth, for Job, and a host of others throughout the ages in the Bible.
There’s always an “open door” that God will guide us through. Or an open window to let the fresh air in, when we recognize that the LORD’s promises and unrelenting love is there. We’re able to see potential in every situation we face, because we’re not facing it alone.
When we know Him, it gets easier to face adversities. No one said it’s easy, but much better when the LORD is the center of our lives, and we understand He’s in control. Amazingly comforting is it not?

“When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, ‘Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?’ He said to Him, ‘Yes, Lord: you know that I love you.’” John 21:15 (ESV)
When we buy a piece of furniture, we have a choice: either a prefabricated article from a supermarket, or a genuine well-crafted piece from a specialised store. Generally, we want a reliable article that will hold up for years under the duress of constant use and if we have children, possibly abuse!
Jesus challenged Peter’s reliability, by asking him about the genuineness of his love. How do we know if we are genuine Christians who truly love the Lord? Jesus reminded His disciples in John 14:15 that “if you love me, you will keep my commandments.” The proof of love for Christ is not an oral confession but living obedience. Peter confessed his love three times for Jesus and so as an expression of this love, Jesus asked for him to obey the command to ‘feed my sheep.’
Scripture is resplendent with Jesus’ commandments. If we truly love Him, we will obey them. If anyone says that he or she loves God but does not endeavour to obey His commandments they are a liar and the love of God is not in them (1 John 4:20). Like a poor version of a piece of furniture, they will not stand up under the pressure of trials and testing’s that come in this life.
Only those who obey Jesus truly love Him. How do we stand up? Are we the genuine article? Yes or No? There is no room for indecision or uncertainty with God.

Jesus’ Love – CD Swanson
“Jesus said to him ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’” (Matthew 22:37 NKJV)
Jesus emphasized that the most important commandment would be the verse above in Matthew. That was always an important and outstanding message from Jesus, and so I began reflecting upon it more so than ever. I started a mental picture of what I’d done to embrace that and solidify being one with Christ.
Well for one thing, I spoke with many individuals about their lives and most are very unhappy. Their circumstances are dim and exhausting in terms of their relationships, or lack thereof. It is sad, frustrating, and to be honest exhausting, and can drain our spirit. However, my heart for the LORD says, “go and love as I have loved you” and when we love, which includes ‘listening’ and helping others, it is part of His plan. These poor souls are non-stop in their daunting misery, and murmurings. But–Jesus wants us to love. And by loving others, we are following His commandments of “loving.” We are a daily reflection of His light, and when we do as He commands and trust in Him and follow Him by being a representative of who He is, the best we can, that is the path in which He wishes us to travel. We are loving Him fully – and with our heart mind and soul. This of course includes all our encounters with others, and behaving like Christ commanded us to do.
Walking in the Light for those in the dark will signify there is hope, that there is indeed a God, and that He is with us always…

Are You Easily Offended? – Michael Edwards
Are you easily offended? Are you offended right now at family members, friends, co-workers or neighbors? God knows all. Be honest and let Him help you.
Becoming offended and living there is not a small thing, it is a huge issue in God’s eyes. So, we need to stop ignoring or minimizing it. Offense is a trap of the enemy we are warned multiple times in scripture to avoid. The command to not offend and to not be offended is a thread that runs through the Apostle Paul’s writings. Offense causes the division we see in the world. Division the enemy wants that can lead the easily offended to lead an isolated life where they are easy prey for the enemy.
We need to understand how destructive dwelling in offense is, or we will never change. See it for what it is. At its root and purest form, offense is unforgiveness. It is withholding grace, mercy compassion and forgiveness. It is designed to steal, kill and destroy. Living in offense is a prime example of allowing evil to overcome us.
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Rom 12:21 ESV
Jesus could have been greatly offended on the cross. But instead, He gave us the greatest example of overcoming evil with good.
And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” Luke 23:34a ESV
The Bible is clear that sin is an offense to God and the Father could hold onto offense for every sin we commit. But what did God choose to do instead? Forget and forgive our sins for His own sake and as an example for us.
“I, I am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins. Isaiah 43:25 ESV
God is calling us to do the same thing. Let go of all offense, to forgive and forget, to refuse to be trapped by the enemy again. Let it go even if you think they knew what they were doing. Holding on to offense will destroy your life. Let it go now and forgive as Jesus has forgiven you. Forgiveness is our greatest opportunity to overcome evil with good.

“Jesus answered and said to him, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God.’” John 3:3 NASB
This statement can be baffling, especially to one who comes to it from a non-spiritual place. I mean really! How can one be born again? Right?
Jesus, Yeshua, was talking about the ‘New Birth’. I can hear you saying, what?
It comes down to accepting what He did for us. Accepting why He came into this world as a baby to then go to the cross to die for our sins and then rise again on the third day. He did all of this for us so that we can be forgiven of all our sins and experience everlasting life for all eternity.
God’s desire is that none be lost and He tells us in the Bible to choose life. Jesus also told us He is the only way to the Father, the life and the truth. He loves you and is calling you today. Do not reject His great love and saving grace. Trust in Jesus now with all your heart.
It can be summed up in one word:
LOVE!

A Committed Life – Jennifer Woodley
“Aaron and his sons did all the things that the Lord commanded through Moses.” Leviticus 8:36 (NRSV)
Aaron and his sons had a full time vocation of service to God. Their entire life day after day was dedicated to worshipping God by bringing sacrifices to atone for the Israelites’ sins. This was an ordered, structured life of service. There was no time or even any inclination to be diverted by the ungodly distractions of the pagan cultures around them. Scripture says in Leviticus that they did everything that they were told by God through the voice of Moses.
A committed life. Can we as Christ’s followers describe our life this way? Spiritual growth requires a life that is set apart and wholly dedicated to God. Part time service won’t do. Being a Sunday Christian is not enough. God requires all of us, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Jesus is Lord of us all, or not Lord at all.
We are prone to compromise our life with Christ and wander from His ways. What we need is an undivided heart. David cried out to God in Psalm 86, “Give me an undivided heart to revere your name.” If we are offering God just parts of our life, it’s time to stop fooling ourselves and get serious about revering God. Let’s surrender our whole committed selves to Him, for we cannot find favour with God any other way.
‘Father, forgive me for not surrendering myself fully to you. Show me what I am holding back from you and give me an undivided heart that is eager to serve you fully and faithfully. Amen.’

All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it. 1 Corinthians 12:27 (NLT)
A Christian radio broadcast announcer was speaking about the true church of Jesus Christ. There were two other guests. I won’t get into what denominations these guests represented, but they were all diverse. And while listening to the broadcast, there was one thing that these different personalities all completely and undoubtedly agreed upon. The unilateral agreement was that the true Church of Jesus Christ is within all true believers.
There shouldn’t be any lines in the sand creating a division of love for Christ. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is what ultimately ties us all together. We are all one accord with Him. Eventually all knees will bow and all tongues will profess that He is Lord. (Philippians 2:10-11)
He dwells in the believer. He lives within. He is our Church…and in the end we will all agree. There no longer will be denominations, or religions. Religion is a word that Christ Himself wouldn’t approve of. Remember the religious Sadducees and Pharisees? Religion was their primary focus, losing sight of the REAL reasons behind the Words of God.
Denomination itself carries the meaning of a dividing of the whole. In theological terms it means a dividing of the Body of Christ. And listening to the three guests on the program suggests a “dividing” due to their individual beliefs.
God sent His son to dwell among us. The Word became flesh and dwelt among us. (John 1:14) He came to heal, to teach, to love…and to defeat death so whoever should believe will live forever. He is in us today in the form of the Holy Spirit our Helper that God sent for us. That Spirit is in us; the one belief system…the one and only God. Our Faith will be united and there will be no religion and no more denominations.
God is a God for all. And when He returns, what a glorious time it will be for all who choose to believe.
Father, thank You for dwelling within all who believe the gospel and place their faith in Jesus, Amen.

When God Calls Us On – Jennifer Woodley
“You have stayed long enough at this mountain. Resume your journey and go into the hill country of the Amorites as well as the neighbouring regions.” Deuteronomy 1:6-7 (NRSV)
God called the nation of Israel to break camp and move on up into the Promised Land that He had chosen for them. The Israelites appeared ready and willing to obey God’s command, but in reality, they were not. God said, “Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged” (verse 21). Yet they allowed fear and doubt to rob them of the awaiting blessing. God said, “It is a good land that I am giving you.” (verse 25). However, they focused on the obstacles and difficulties instead. God said, “The Lord your God, who goes before you, is the one who will fight for you.” (verse 30), yet despite this promise, the people did not trust in the Lord.
When God tells us to break camp and move out to face a new challenge will we be ready to obey? Will we be found cowering and afraid or full of confidence and courage? When God calls us into new situations, He has already prepared the way and will give us the victory, if we obey and believe. God gives us the power to overcome obstacles and difficulties. However, like the Israelites, do we allow the difficulties to control our life and the fear of them immobile us, so that we cease moving into the blessing and abundant living that God has purposed for us?
We need a growing, maturing faith. Obedience and courage is the key. Let’s not shrink back, but go forward with God, knowing with Him we cannot fail.

Luke 10: 41-42, And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”
Yesterday I noticed a swarm of people over at my neighbor’s home. They were laughing, eating and seemed to be having a grand time. Two widowed sisters live there. In my observance of what was happening I immediately thought of Mary and Martha in the above passage from Luke.
Across the road in the midst of the gathering, the elder sister sat with her Bible firmly in her weathered hand while the younger widow was immersed in family and the food being served.
In Luke’s narrative, Martha was busy with the preparations for the guests while Mary sat by the feet of Jesus taking in His presence, learning and listening. Well, here was a similar circumstance with these two sisters.
It was Mary that had Jesus’ favor, for she wasn’t distracted by the world, or encumbered by her duties. Mary’s highest priority was Jesus. Martha on the other hand, was distracted from what should have been her most treasured and highest priority, the LORD Jesus Christ. Of course, friends, gatherings and entertaining are all well and good. It’s when we turn from God totally and enjoy all else without Him is to what I am referring.
When we divert our attention from God by taking our eyes off Him, trouble will invariably enter into our lives. It’s when we lose focus on Him, and stray from His Word, that our situations can abruptly explode creating chaos in our lives. When we let go of our purpose and focus of God, we can get sucked into self-condemnation, depression, or going off on a pity-pot of woe is me.
Troubled? Something missing in your life? Sit at His feet and worship Him. Believe in Him fully and bask in His glorious light.
“Father, I adore You. May I never lose sight of what is most important in my life, and that is You, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not be in want.” Psalm 23:1 (NIV)
David wrote these words from his own experience of caring for sheep. He knew that sheep are dependent upon the shepherd for provision, guidance and protection. As the Lord is the Good Shepherd, so we are His sheep; obedient followers, wise enough to follow one who will lead us in the right places and in the right ways.
When we allow God to guide us, we have contentment and His blessing. But how very difficult it is to depend upon the Lord when there are things that we want! Things that are just beyond our reach and can become more important than believing that God is our shepherd, who knows what is best. His promise to provide becomes a fact in our heads rather than a lived-out reality in our lives. We know that our own efforts to run our lives lead to disappointment, and more often than not messy, complicated situations. There is no contentment nor blessing when this happens.
So how do we obey His promise that as a Good Shepherd He will provide, guide and protect? We must discipline our desires and restrain those strong urges to take over and make things happen. We must release control and wait for God to do God-like things in our lives, by trusting His ways and His timetable. And we must purify our motives by aligning every activity and every thought with what we know (and deep down we do know!) God would have us do and think. Our motive must be to bring honour to Him alone!
Our Good Shepherd waits to lavish us with His goodness.

“A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.” (John 13:34 KJV)
Most recently, I was inadvertently pulled into a “heated discussion” by two friends. I found myself within the circle of their voices shouting, to the point of escalating into an all-out adversarial camping ground of viperous like behavior towards each other! It was highly uncomfortable and discouraging to see. I started praying for the Spirit’s lead in which to handle and diffuse an already contentious display of behavior.
They eventually insisted on pulling me in, “What do you think? Who is right? Isn’t it ridiculous what she/he believes? What do you say?”
I answered, “Yes, I have something to say…and the answer is Jesus.”
We all believe in Jesus, and insomuch, we are part of the body of Christ. We then become a cohesive orchestra in Jesus’ spirit.
Is the world not “dark enough” without our condescending and lambasting of each other’s churches? Are we not all believers? Are we not all lovers of Christ? Why then do we fight and goad one another when we are all of one body?
My friends relented and agreed and actually offered each other their mutual abject apologies, and hugged.
It takes disciples of Christ to bring order and love into what can be a “hateful” gathering of individuals, who unknowingly bring a separation of power in His name, into then what becomes a glorifying of the enemy. Because when Christians fight each other, are they not bringing joy to the very “darkness” and the “enemy?”
“Love one another as I have loved you…” is this not a familiar commandment?
Remember it the next time a blatant disparity of Spirit shows up to try and destroy unity!
“Father, may I do all according to Your will. Direct me through all kinds of scenarios, predicaments, and situations, in Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Coming Judgment – Are You in Christ?
Beloved, this is now my second letter to you. Both of them are reminders to stir you to wholesome thinking by recalling what was foretold by the holy prophets and commanded by our Lord and Savior through your apostles.
Most importantly, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. “Where is the promise of His coming?” they will ask. “Ever since our fathers fell asleep, everything continues as it has from the beginning of creation.”
But they deliberately overlook the fact that long ago by God’s word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water, through which the world of that time perished in the flood. And by that same word, the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.
The Day of the Lord
Beloved, do not let this one thing escape your notice: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise as some understand slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance.
But the Day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar, the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and its works will be laid bare.
Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to conduct yourselves in holiness and godliness as you anticipate and hasten the coming of the day of God, when the heavens will be destroyed by fire and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with God’s promise, we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells. 2 Peter 3:1-13 BSB

Reflecting on God’s love and truth for us, is a “call for us to love” one another. Meditating on His Word helps to reinforce the purpose for our lives and allows us to fully comprehend the power of that love, through His light. It helps to support so many facets of our lives. Such as our marriages, our relationships of family, friends, neighbors, and our enemies.
The Holy Bible states emphatically that the LORD is love, which makes the Word a perfect source to learn and know just what that love means, and how we in turn might demonstrate His love towards others.
Reading the Word enables us to grow closer to the LORD, while solidifying our love for Him. Along with our reading the scriptures and putting them into practice as we go about living our lives, we as well as others begin to see the changes emerging in our hearts and mind, which encapsulates and emulates selfless love.
He made us in love, and His love is what makes us who we are. So, walking in His light and obeying His Word allows us to fully develop as Christians, while working cohesively in one body of Christ.
Love is what we are made from, and Love from the LORD is the very “air we breathe” that is to say, LIFE.
He died for us; there is simply “no greater love than that.” (John 3:16)
We live because of Him, now and forever, Amen.

Are You Sure You are Going to Heaven? Michael Edwards
If you have made Jesus your Lord and Savior, believing the gospel message, are you now sure, absolutely for certain, you are going to heaven? If not, you should be.
I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life. 1 John 5:13 ESV
For by grace you have been saved through faith. Eph 2:8a ESV
If you doubt, you have fallen prey to the purveyor of doubt, not looking at Jesus perfection, you are still looking at your sinful flesh. This is called walking by sight instead of faith. Doubt is our enemy’s biggest weapon. It is really all he has to work with because God’s way of salvation is so clear.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16 ESV
If you look at your flesh and your faults as the enemy wants, you are going to struggle and doubt. Repeatedly looking at yourself in this way with the hope of being good enough to enter heaven, will never bring you the assurance, peace and power God wants you to have. However, if you walk by faith, fixing your eyes on the Author and Perfector of your faith (Jesus, Hebrews 12:2), you will be kept in perfect peace assured of God’s promises.
You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Isa 26:3 ESV
Isn’t it about time that you made a firm decision to get out of the boat and leave all doubt behind, trusting Jesus all out? Do you really have another option?
For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. Rom 10:10 ESV
Stop doubting God’s promises for us who believe and stop spreading doubt to others.
And have mercy on those who doubt; Jude 1:22 ESV
Instead, strongly encourage and buildup the faith (Eph 4:29) you see in others and your faith will be encouraged also.
Just do it, “…Stop doubting and believe…” John 20:27b

A Fruitful Garden – Jennifer Woodley
“Breathe upon me your Spirit wind. Stir up the sweet spice of your life within me. Spare nothing as you make me your fruitful garden. Hold nothing back until I release your fragrance. Come taste the fruits of your life in me.” Song of Solomon 4:16-15:1 (The Passion)
In these evocative words the Shulamite woman pleads for her lover’s presence and power to transform her into a woman who brings Him delight. She implores Him to hold nothing back until she becomes a fragrant, fruitful garden – the very image of her lover Himself. It is the sweet Spirit of God who does this beautiful work in her life and in ours too.
We rarely consider that the work Christ is unfolding in our character is to transform us into a fruitful garden. A paradise garden that brings forth wholesome, nourishing fruit – a delight to our Father and enjoyment for others. We are not our own. We are being shaped for the glory and pleasure of our Father and for the betterment of others. Just as walking amongst delicious, perfumed fruits and flowers takes us to a new level of enjoyment and fulfilment, so too are we being breathed upon by the Spirit of God to become a fruitful garden that brings pleasure to others and to our Creator.
What are the circumstances in our lives right now that God is using to develop fruit in us? Consider what specific fruits He has developed thus far. God’s work is good and purposeful. Let’s not resist His work in our hearts but respond openly, willingly and obediently so that He might see and taste the fruits of His life in us.

There Are No Limitations On: ‘Wherever You Go’ – Robert Schaetzle
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; be not frightened, neither be dismayed; for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9 RSV)
This is a wonderful command given to our Lord’s followers. When we come to make our declaration to accept and obey Christ and His spiritual leading, there waits for us a pathway of living hope.
Our walk ‘in Jesus’ really is impregnable to spiritual defeat. It is absolute. No power of darkness can cause us to lose our way when we walk in Him. This is the best reason to desire God’s Word in our heart — to memorize, meditate, and hear God’s voice in the Word which is our best weapon against all fear and doubt as to which path to follow.
There really is no better way to ‘stay on the narrow path.’ Recall the forty days Jesus was alone in the wilderness. His weapon against all that Satan threw at him was the Word of God. It was greater than all the latest guided missiles of any military might.
Regardless of wherever we might be stationed this side of eternity, God’s Word and the power of His spiritual presence is the best means for our defense. God’s guiding compass ‘Wherever You Go,’ helps us always remember – His presence is lighting the way. There simply is no darkness that can overcome His light, and there are no detours on the ‘King’s Highway.’
“This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light and in him is no darkness at all.” (1 John 1:5 RSV)
Father, keep our path shining bright every day with the promise of your Word, so that we never lose our way wherever we go. AMEN

As a Believer, Do You Fear Standing Before God? – Michael Edwards
We read several times in scripture where the Angel of the Lord appeared to man and he suddenly fell down in fear, acutely aware of his sin, asking Him to depart. We see the same with Peter in this interaction with Jesus, after Peter had hauled in his first great load of fish.
But when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord.” Luke 5:8 ESV
Peter realized who Jesus was and the knowledge of his sin and fear of God’s punishment became overwhelming to him. There was a second time in Peters life when Jesus provided a great haul of fish. This happened after he had denied Jesus three times and had met privately with the risen Christ according to scripture. In this second instance, Peter sees the exact same miracle, the haul of fish. It had to awaken his senses to who Jesus was again, God in the flesh. But this time, in John 21:7, Peter jumps in the water and swims quickly to shore to boldly embrace Jesus. No fear. The love of Christ, perfected in Peter.
There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. 1 John 4:18
So, thinking about it right now, if you stood before God today, would your sin make you fall down in fear? Or would you worship Him in Spirit and truth, seeing His righteousness that has overcome all of your sin, perfecting you for all time in Christ.
For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified. Heb 10:14 NASB
Imagine for a moment standing before God, trusting Jesus alone, unafraid, because you are sure you are righteous in Christ. That is love perfected.
Doubt and fear only come when we look at Jesus plus ourselves (walking by sight not faith), to determine if we are right with God. Fix your eyes on Jesus alone, the perfect lamb of God.
I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life. 1 John 5:13 ESV

”And the ransomed of the Lord shall return and come to Zion with singing; everlasting joy shall be upon their heads, they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.” Isaiah 35:10 (NRSV)
True joy transcends the rolling waves of circumstance. Joy comes not from externals, but a consistent relationship with Jesus Christ. When our lives are centred on Him, Jesus will help us walk through difficulties without sinking into debilitating lows and manage prosperity without escalating into deceptive highs. The joy of living with Christ keeps us on a constant even-keel, despite our circumstances.
For those of us who are weary and tired, we need the joy that is found in staying close to Christ. Our Saviour said in John 15:11 that if we keep His commandments and abide in His love, His joy would fill us and move us onwards to do whatever we are called to. Jesus is committed to those who are committed to Him.
This is the joy that keeps us going despite struggles and pain. This is not a fleeting ‘put on my happy face’ type of joy. His is a deep joy that fills our inner being and remains even when life looks bleak. Is this what we are in need of right now? Be encouraged because Christ liberally gives us the joy that the world can neither offer us, nor take away.
‘Father, I have looked around and can’t find lasting joy in what the world offers. Only your joy keeps me going. I do not pray for an easy life, but that your joy would enable me to bear whatever lays ahead.’

Give Thanks For All Circumstances? – Michael Edwards
Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thess 5:18 ESV
Many think God wants us to give thanks FOR all circumstances. The truth is that our verse says IN all circumstances. If we read it as FOR, then we believe our Good God, wants us to thank Him FOR cancer, poverty, our children’s illness, every awful thing and even God’s enemy death.
However, if we read our verse as written, it states “give thanks IN all circumstances.” So, give thanks in all things, for what? The word tells us repeatedly that no matter where we find ourself, the best thing we can do is to remember God’s goodness and steadfast love towards us.
Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever! Psalm 118:1 ESV
We can give thanks even in the worst circumstances because our God is good and His steadfast love endures forever. No matter what we are experiencing, these are still true. He does not want us to doubt His great love or think we are alone in our situation.
The truth of God’s goodness and steadfast love is found in a multitude of verses. These are truth filled, powerful, spiritual words of victory that were sung by Israel, leading to countless conquests in battle. They are weapons for our spiritual battles too, and will destroy enemy strongholds and bring us triumph too.
“Give thanks to the LORD, for his steadfast love endures forever.” 2 Chron 20:21b ESV
God is always loving, kind, and for us, even when things are going wrong. He is a good Father all the time and His love for us always endures. A proper focus, shows us that God is greater than our problems and captivates our thoughts onto His steadfast love. This brings us His overcoming power, peace, rest and victory in our spiritual battles.
Take your eyes off your troubles and look to Him. Let the battle be the Lords as you Focus on, memorize, meditate upon, sing out, and thank God for these two absolute truths.

‘Then one of the leaders of the synagogue named Jairus came and, when he saw him, fell at his feet’ Mark 5:22 (NRSV)
What a sight to see! A highly respected public figure prostrating himself before a carpenter from Galilee. Although a leader of the synagogue, an influential and authoritative man, Jairus knew his position before Christ. He knew who was greater. Before the Saviour, Jairus was just like any other man. His position and power diminished in Christ’s presence.
In order to receive from Jesus, we must become small. We must approach Christ with a posture of humility that is willing to cast aside the recognitions that we have accumulated in this world. We cannot cling to our position, our trophies, our awards or our status. Before Christ our achievements are nothing. Jairus, regardless of his position amongst his peers in the synagogue, was just like us – a broken, sinful man in need of a Savior. In need of the greatest man who walked among men who could offer him both a forgiveness that would wash him clean and a love that would raise up his daughter and restore her health.
Jairus was humble enough to know that the rules and traditions of men could never reconcile him to Christ. We all need the healing, redeeming power of love, but are we humble enough to receive it? Like Jairus, we must become diminished and broken. Then the Lord will hear when we call to him and deliver us from our troubles (Psalm 34:6). Are we ready fall at his feet? What keeps us from approaching Christ and fully surrendering to him? Jesus waits wanting to restore what is broken.

Consequences – Jennifer Woodley
‘Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. They asked him, “You are not also one of disciples, are you?” He denied it and said, “I am not.” John 18: 25 (NRSV)
When we become a disciple of Christ, when we say yes to the invitation to follow him, we are also saying yes to the consequences of that decision. Whatever they may be. Peter denied Jesus three times, not because he didn’t love his Lord, but because he was fearful of where that love may take him. Would it mean his own death as well? Would it result in a beating in the same way the soldiers had brutally battered Jesus? Peter was not willing to go there.
This was a love that may cost too much. Too much for the disciple to bear. Instead, Peter backed down and recanted on his confession to even know Jesus. Every love comes at a price. The deeper the love, the greater that price. How great was Jesus’ love for us, that he paid the highest price of all.
Like Peter, are we fearful of the consequences of confessing our faith? Ask God for boldness and strength. Or like Jesus, are we ready to carry our cross, unashamed of the gospel and eager to confess our commitment to our Savior. Thank God for his Spirit who empowers us with the courage and strength to steadfastly face the consequences of loving our Lord.
Heavenly Father, I want to be found growing in my love for you, despite the consequences. Help me to face whatever hardship lays ahead and remain faithfully committed to you always. Amen

Remember the bygone days of falling in love with your partner? Nothing else mattered as much as being together. There was a great hunger to enjoy one another’s company and when separated, we longed for the time of being together again. Yet sometimes that first love can fade as the years pass.
Just as God has placed within us the desire to enjoy a lifelong partner, He has also given us a desire to love Him and enjoy His presence forever. And yet the passion of worshipping and enjoying God loses its intensity as time goes on.
In the midst of the myriad of tasks that occupy our days, we have substituted worship for work. Worshipping God is not something we tack onto a busy schedule. Have we forgotten that work comes from worship? Any work we undertake must be born from a heart that is intent on worship and places worship of the Father above all. However, any work that does not flow from worship is not pleasing to Him. After all, it is God we seek to please, not others.
The invitation here is to reach towards cultivating a spirit of worship every day: a lifestyle of worship that dominates our life. Just as two lovers long to be in the company of each other, we look forward to the opportunity of quietly being with the Father and gazing into the face of our Beloved again and again.
Let’s heed the warning the Spirit of God gives to the church at Ephesus in Revelation 2:4 by repenting and returning to Jesus, our first love.

“And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth,” (Deuteronomy 28:1-2 KJV).
Christians can sometimes get lost in preconceptions about God, thereby influencing what we “think” we might “hear” from Him. For example, when we think of God as a perfectly wise and loving Counselor, (which is what He is!) we will most assuredly be open to His Word and Promises, irrespective of the adversities or calamities we may be facing. We know that He will undeniably help us when we believe and trust in our Rock.
Ostensibly, some may believe God is a vindictive Judge, and expect punishment on a daily basis, waiting relentlessly for Him to extract in penalties due to our follies, or backsliding.
Simply put, the depth of our relationship with the LORD will be instrumental in how we “hear” Him. When we approach Him, knowing we are serving a loving God, under the auspices of His grace, we’re filled with the blessed assurance that He will “talk” to us. And we then “hear” what it is that He’s saying, even if it might not be exactly what we “want” to hear. Nonetheless, His will not ours.
Have you judiciously applied all the foundations of His doctrine and will for your life on a daily basis?
The next time you think you “hear” what the LORD is saying, be sure it isn’t some preconceived thought in your own mind, luring and leading to the wide destructive path of the world.
Instead, follow the sage advice of 1 Thessalonians 5:21, and test whatever you “hear” alongside the truth of Scripture. It’s only then, your barometer of Christianity will register reality, which will let us abandon the shrill “fictitious” sounds of the world!

“Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.” – (Philippians 2:14-16 KJV)
The LORD expects us to do all according to His will and purpose for our lives. When we do, it should be done in honor and glory to Him, and we shouldn’t be complaining every step of the way. Chronic caustic actions can be a detriment to our growth in the Spirit. When we do all things arbitrarily, we are not aligning to His Word or expressing our undaunted love of Christ. Shining His light and being an example to those we encounter is a responsibility of Christians. Christ wants us to shine “our lights” to those in the dark, and to walk the path of righteousness until we take our last breath. It is then, we will reap our “eternal rewards” of paradise.
In this world, we’ll always face adversity, evil and mayhem. We must consciously adhere to His Word, and accept it is God who is in control. It is only the LORD who can change things within a second flat. It’s His hands of grace that touch us, enabling us to fulfill all that we are intended to do, with exuberance and purpose.
He is the quintessential heartbeat of Christians, the breath of life, and the light of the world. It is only through our faith in Christ that we are able to take on matters with confidence and without fear. He is the source of our vitality.
Do you know Him? All I can say is—the single most important aspect of LIFE is forming a deep intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. Amen!

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth.” John 1:14 (KJV)
The Lord gave Himself freely and came for the purpose of saving us. His blood as an atoning sacrifice, thereby redeeming us. He provided a path for our salvation, and conquered the grave- and defeated death, for us. So why are we overlooking Him at Christmas?
Why are there “Holiday cards” and “Holiday parties” – and why are people saying “Happy Holidays?” Does it seem there’s hardly a mention of Christ? How did this all come about? When did society become so hardened and self-inflicted by their “own glory” and importance, that Christ is not a part of it?
Christ, our redeemer – our Refuge, our Savior, and our King of kings, is being pushed to the side. Christmas is filled with commercialism– look around; it’s proliferating in our nation.
Truly, loving God and His Son Jesus is a joy that should be celebrated throughout the year, and most of all, at Christmas. It’s not something to be bandied about on our own schedule but a daily practice tempered by obedience.
We shouldn’t be reticent about sharing our love for Him. – We shouldn’t care what people might think by overtly showing love for the Lord. The bottom line ultimately is about pleasing and loving God; that’s all that matters.
When our time on earth is over – will we be comfortable meeting God? Will He know us? Or say, “I have never known thee.” That’s our choice.
Personally… I choose the LORD above all!
This Christmas season, please don’t leave Christ out of the equation. Revere Him, Love Him, delve into His Word – and make it all about Him. Because when He came here, He made it all about us!

My husband and I have been speaking about possibly relocating back to where most of our family lives. So many variables make it difficult to do so at this time. However, one thing we walked away with after our discussions. We remembered, no matter where we are, the LORD is right there with us!
Sheltering in His love, knowing He is our Rock, is a comforting piece of knowledge and a visceral feeling of peace that’s beyond description. Resting in His love, is the most important place to be.
No matter where we live. God is there. We can talk with Him. He is the most interesting Being to engage in any conversation. He is the only One that can bring a fountain of wisdom directly to us and love us beyond the capacity of all others.
At this time, we are where we are supposed to be. And though family members are grossly disappointed, we know it isn’t time for us to relocate yet. Perhaps ever. Only time will tell. You can’t plan life. Life plans you. And in the midst of those plans, is the LORD. He is essentially the One in control of it all.
Let us never forget, “God is with us, holding us, loving us, and He will NEVER leave us.”

Emollient for My Soul – CD SWANSON
Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart. Psalm 119:2 (KJV)
We are truly blessed, when we keep His testimonies, which is to say, the whole Word of God. His scriptures, are life affirming and truth, which is an emollient that truly soothes our souls.
His love, and His grace, through Christ, (His only begotten Son) our Lord and Savior, is heir inherent of our faith, and our whole reason for living.
Happiness, peace, and joy, are all vital components, that we of faith, invariably share, when we live in the shadow of the Almighty. And trust Him in all we endeavor each and every day of our lives.
To Know God, and all of which He is, we need to go beyond His Word. Knowing His Word, and meditating upon it, is a huge and critical aspect of our faith, of course. But to be truly intimate, in terms of our relationship with Him, we need to graft onto Him. Decrease in our own self-worth, thereby, allowing Him to “increase” to further substantiate our existence, of who we can be…through Christ, our Lord. We are victorious through Christ.
Reaching out, and seeking His face, is a natural inclination for those who love Him. Exposing our heart openly, and bowing to Him, while acquiescing to His will, are key to our spiritual growth.
When we speak to Him and follow the course in which He intends us to walk, we are experiencing the “truest form” of love, devotion, and intimacy. Which completes the equation of “perfection,” set off by His hands of glory.
Seek Him daily, love Him unconditionally, and listen to Him, without fail. After doing this with a contrite and loving heart, be prepared to experience the “greatest love,” that you will ever know!

Did you ever feel Jesus, walking alongside you during your travels, whether at home, near, or far?
I quite often dedicate the day to the LORD, in all my tasks, and various accomplishments. No matter how big or small, it’s all to Him, and because of Him, that I’m able to undertake any situation. Amen!
I know most Christians are familiar with the saying, “What would Jesus do?” Which has become synonymous with one of deep faith.
What we say, He hears (Creator of the Universe)
What we do, He sees (The Great I Am)
What we think, He knows (Omnipotent God)
What we forget, He remembers (Guides us)
What we remember, He forgets (Forgives us)
So, Jesus is with us all the days of our life. Morning through the evening, into the dark hours of the night. He is by our side. Never wavering in His grace, love or protection.
Next time, if something is in need of attention, try to think before acting upon it. Hold off on what is said, before saying it. And most important, remember God forgives us. Because Jesus died for us, resurrected and redeemed us. His blood is the atonement for our sins, and He has forgiven us. It is done. So, ease up on any guilt trips that you might be on. He loves unconditionally, and forgives always.
Think about His love, and His company, throughout the day, and give it all to Him, and His glory, now and forever, Amen!

All situations in our life should be brought to our Father. For a blessing, for advice, and guidance. As we sit in conference with our Lord, we learn to hear and understand His words. We begin to infuse His Spirit with ours, and our bond and purpose will become clearer each time. His plans for our life will eventually become visibly apparent.
When my husband and I moved years ago, we didn’t clearly understand the purpose. It wasn’t until many years later that I understood fully. My career as an Administrator in the Nursing Home Industry, and Counselor for the beloved elderly, was directly related to the move. However, this wasn’t revealed until years later. God brings terms of enlightenment, at His own pace…His own timetable…His own relevance. And it’s always “good.” And always on time, never late!
So, if you are reading this right now and waiting for an answer from the Lord, be patient no matter what your prayer maybe. It could be “should I marry?” Is this the “right man/woman?” Or, “is this the right job?” Or even, “Father, what do you want me to do at this time?” Wait on the Lord. He will be your guiding force, your life force, your means for everything, and anything.
I am joyful and thrilled to know, God, is at the helm of my ship. He is in full control. So, no matter what we may be going through, rough seas, stormy weather patterns, or times of tranquility. Leave it all to God. He is the procurer of love and endless possibilities. Nothing is impossible with God. He knows our hearts–our needs–and our souls.
“LORD, we’re Yours, and recognize You’re in control at all times, may we be mindful of this, and rest in Your love, in Jesus’ name, Amen.”

“For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.” Colossians 5:2 (KJV)
Paul wrote the book of Colossians to help us with our spiritual growth, with an emphasis on Christ, being with us always. Under the auspices of the LORD, who inspired and led him to write and to be an instrument for His purposes, Paul emphasized not to follow “false shadows” or “false teachings.” Emphasizing there is only one way, and that is through Jesus Christ, the source of all things. And hence our spiritual growth and gains through Him. Although absent from us in the flesh, Christ is with us “Spiritually” and dwells within each of His believers.
Knowing that the Holy Spirit is with us every step of the way is an overpowering guarantee that no matter where we go or what we do…He is always with us. His presence is magnified within each of us, serving as a constant source of wisdom and fellowship while providing peace and strength as we overcome the giants and valleys in our lives.
He is our everything, for everything, today, tomorrow, and always. His words, His truth, His light, and His love, a treasure from within to without. His love and grace, a gift to all that accept it. His love is our answer to life…no matter who or where we are. We are all His, and He is ours. Amen!

My Time with You – C D Swanson
“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” Psalm 46:10 (NKJV)
Shut out the intrusive noise around you! Shh!
Be quiet, be still, listen to the Lord, put your focus on God, and all else will fall into place with His blessings. Spending time with God, helps reinforce our ability to cope with “the world” and the challenging circumstances that we all face from time to time.
We are strong “through Christ” who leads, directs and guides us every day. Although the path and road are “narrow,” if we focus and keep our minds on the LORD, it will become easier each day we spend with Him. Our minds will start to think in spiritual ways, our hearts will grow in spiritual ways, as our love for the LORD, which will increase tenfold.
Reliance on His power and His guidance, become our tools of survival in a world of “darkness.” His light is a force to be reckoned with and the darkness won’t be able to stand up to it, so therefore “it’s banished” forever!
Trust Him. Speak to Him. Allow His will in your life.
And most important, LOVE HIM.
