Dear God: Sweet Honey Your Word~

How sweet are Thy words unto my taste! Yea, swetter than honey to  my mouth! Through They precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way. Psalms 119:103-104.

God’s word is sweet for those who have developed an appetite for the meat of His Word,  in fact, it’s sweeter than honey. Knowledge and wisdom from God’s Word is as sweet to the soul as honey is to taste.

In the Hebrew language is an idiom that means “to receive knowledge.” When we digest His word we’re receiving knowledge from Father. An infinite amount of knowledge that transcends time, a knowledge that’ll be with us in this age, and in the next, that is to say in heaven. We will feast on His word and be filled beyond capacity for all eternity. Energized satiated, and filled with peace, such is His Word, and His love.

His word gives us the path to eternal life, as we read His word it’ll quicken our soul. Quickened means to “make alive.”  Father enlightens us with His voice, through His word, thereby bringing us life.

There is a limit to things in the flesh, and there is a time limit to our life on earth, but there’s no limit to God’s wisdom it’s boundless, which corresponds to eternity. To engage in the daily feast of His Word is what sustains and provides the vitality in which we need to live, forever.

Oh how love I Thy law! It is my meditation all the day. Thou through Thy commandments has made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me. I have more understanding than all my teachers: for Thy testimonies are my meditation. (Psalm 119:100-102)

Can we think of any better teacher than God? If we’re taught from His lap, we’ve been taught by the best!  It is the consumption of His doctrine and His ways that provide all that we need and more.

How sweet is the Word, and how beautiful is His voice?  Can you hear Him? Do you partake of His daily feast? Delve into His Word and see just how much He loves you.

Dear God: You Are Our Shelter~

For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall….Isaiah 25:4

I don’t know about the rest of you but I’ve had enough of this harsh winter!  I know winter is supposed to be just that, “winter” — but when snow comes every single day and storm after storm without a reprieve in sight, I’ve had ENOUGH!

While I was sitting at my desk with a cup of coffee watching the snow hurl and the winds blow, the visibility factor was zero, if that!  I couldn’t see anything but “white-out” and said a silent prayer for those on the road to keep them out of harm’s way.  And, then I thought of God being our shelter at all times.

Even though we may be in the middle of a horrific storm, God is our refuge and shelter. He cares for each of us irrespective of our status in life. We are all His and He is our Father who willingly and surreptiously guards us, protects us and is our safe harbor in any storm. No matter what. He is there.

Storms in the spiritural sense is akin to a snow storm. We feel the surge from the situation, and we can experience a “white-out” but if we know God is with us, it will downgrade in no time at all. Any kind of storm (for those who live in the south and don’t get snow–we know you get horrific hurricanes and thunder storms) we experience we can breathe easier knowing God is holding us up as we go through it.

Even when we think we’re going to be suffocated by life and circumstances seem overpowering. Remember that nothing is too big for our God. With man things are impossible, with God all things are possible.

As the storm came to a “close” I looked at the placid surrounding of freshly fallen snow and felt immesurable peace and witnessed the beauty that enveloped the scenery. A completely different look from earlier with winds howling and fierce biting ice and snow falling.  Yet although I couldn’t see anything but white-out…I knew that God was there in the midst of the storm.  And once the storm was over the hands of God and His love was apparent as evidenced by the afterglow of serenity and beauty.

Shelter from the storm?  Try God and see how mighty He is…and then feel the love and experience the joy that can only be known through trusting and loving Him. Amen.

Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

John 16:33 These things I have spoken to you, that in me you might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you: not as the world gives, give I to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Dear God: We Love & Have Faith~

me with heartLove & Faith~ by C D Swanson

John 6:50-71 – This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.

We eat that we’ll  live forever…and never perish.  The food that sustains our body for nourishment, comes from the Father. Think about it for a moment. The food that we eat each day comes from the Father. Sure, we go out and buy it, or harvest it…but who owns it?  God  of course.  For everything which is created was created by the Father. .(All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was  made.John 1:3 KJV)

Thereto the same theory in the Spirtual sense. Father provides the “Bread” for us to eat daily. The daily consumption of partaking in His Word and digesting the meaning of the Father’s ways is what keeps us “ALIVE”  Amen.

Surely Christ embodies love and is of love from His Father…and we are created in love. Love and faith go together.  Think about it.  We can’t do one without the other. I heard a pastor make a prolific statement that resonated within my soul. He said, “Love is the motivator, but Faith is in the initiator.” When we believe and absorb His daily bread, we acclimate and assimilate into producing the fruit…and  then love will be a part of our daily lives.

The Spiritual Bread is from the Father, it nourishes our marrow and provides for our needs in all capacities.  He is the cultivator of origin and knew us before we were born.  He knows our hearts, He knows our names.  He is our provider and our refuge. He is love…We love Him and  yet…we haven’t seen Him.  We know that He exists because we have Faith. Faith and love go hand-in-hand.  One can’t exist without the other.

Eat of His bread daily. The Bible is our guide and our love letter from the Father. It is our “rule book” it is a way of life so that we live victoriously through Christ. Everything you need to know about life is in the “book.” One of the best books written of all time! Amen. I personally can’t get enough. The more I read, the more I want. The more I want, the more is revealed.

The word is pregnant.  It keeps growing and gives birth to new revelations each time it’s read. But, again… we can’t do it without faith…and through faith comes love.

Love= motivating factor   Faith = initiating factor.  Together…a dynamic and overwhelmingly exciting factor.

Love & Faith…it doesn’t get much better than that.

God Bless~
