Behold, I stand at the door and I knock: if any man hear my voice , and open the door, I will come into him and I will sup with him, and he with me. (Rev. 3:20 KJV)

My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. (John 10:27 )

Listen…do you hear His voice? Do you hear His voice over the traffic roar? Or do you hear Him in a crowd? Do you hear Him within the confines of your house? Do you hear Him in good times and bad?

Listening for His voice and “hearing” His words is one which all those of faith subscribe to and wish to acheive during every waking moment we are alive…and eventually through eternity.

He knows His sheep…do we know His voice? There is a calling of “voices” that can be deceiving, that can appear to be harmless while inviting you to “answer” –when in fact, it might be the false one knocking on your door.

Jesus warns us many times to be aware of “false prophets” and “false teachers” that they will come in sheeps clothing… but are wolves. The enemy seeks to sift us or to devour us should they catch us “unaware.” But those who “know His voice” and “sup with Him” will not and cannot be fooled. Those who converse and have an intimate relationship with HIm will not be in danger of opening the “door” to that which doesn’t align with God’s word…or will.

The overall santification of being a follower is clearly apparent when the Lord “opens eyes” for us to see. His voice is unique and stands out, because the Lord “opens ears” for us to hear. It is by His grace and thereby His will that grants the gift of “knowing, seeing and hearing.” It is the “desire” He places within our hearts to grasp, embrace, and surrender to His will. It is the ultimate trust and ability to ascertain within seconds with a “discerning spirit” in which He presents to us, if something is wrong…or not of God.

His word and His gifts of love, grace and unmerited favor grants us peace and substantial rewards. To sup with Him and to know His voice is a vitally important and crucial to our well-being. Our weapons of defense in spiritural warfare would be our gospel armor and His word. The sword (the word) which cuts both ways.
