Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God. (Matthew 5:8 KJV)
The magnificence of God is beyond measure when one stops to contemplate the superior presence of our Sovereign Lord. The blessings abound within all aspects of our life…through threads of common ground extending beyond polar opposites.
We had a blessing last week when my sister became a “grandmother”, for the first time… and my mom a great grandmother. Her youngest daughter brought forth, through the grace of God, a beautiful baby girl. Her light is shining from within already, created by the Master. The mother had a difficult pregnancy and a horrific delivery of which I’ll spare the details of. I will share this… the baby, Savannah Belle—was not breathing when she was delivered and was blue. They worked feverishly on her for what seemed an eternity, until she gasped and took her first breath of life! God sought to bring her into this world, and for His hands for grace…gave the doctors the skill and wisdom to know what to do thus bringing about the happy outcome. A blessing! Thank you Lord, praise your name.
Life is such. There are blessings all around us. The blessings are in everything we see or do. In our food, in our homes, in our families, in our children and our friends. But, most especially in our hearts. The Lord blesses those who “hear His voice” and follow accordingly. He is a merciful God and a loving Father. He wants what’s best for His children at all times.
My niece (who had the child) was upset watching her baby cry as she had to have several blood tests done for possible Jaundice. She was in pain seeing her baby cry, and being “tortured with needles in her little heels.” While listening to my niece tell about baby Savannah a vision of God came to me immediately! The pain of watching His only begotten Son…and what He must have felt seeing His Son, Jesus– being tortured, and His heels bruised and nailed to the cross. The thought is not in our scope of understanding in terms of God’s eyes. But there was a blessing in disguise through Christ’s crucifixtion. He saved the world from sin. He defeated death, He resurrected and shines His light for all that wish to be a part of His eternal Kingdom.
There are always blessings around us…in happiness and in sadness. Throughout the interim of our earthly existence, we will endeavor to understand circumstances that come upon us, family members, neighbors, friends or strangers in the world. We should be merciful in our actions, and shine His light from within…and recognize that while somethings are apparent immediately in terms of blessings. There are some things that aren’t transparent at first as being a blessing, but if we stand back, take a deep breath and let God be God…I promise that eventually we will see the blessings being showered upon us.
Rain today? Rainbow tomorrow….
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, and I will be exalted in the earth. (Psalms 46:10 KJV)
Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many (Matthew 20:28 KJV)
