Dear God: You Are Our Bandage & More~

He that hath received His testimony hath set to his seal that God is true. (John 3:33)

He that hath received His testimony hath set to his seal that God is true. (John 3:33)

While my husband was walking to his car he saw this goose.  He immediately took the picture because he thought it was cute, but knew that I’d appreciate it immensely.

This precious creature–at the time it was taken–was sitting on her eggs. This was in the middle of  a busy parking lot and yet it was “unharmed”  and people kept their distance from the “miracle at hand” which is to say, “God’s creation.”

This beautiful female was protected during the entire incubation process, and eventually the little ones came forth.  God protected them all along, until they  safely took off to parts unknown.  God’s hands of “love and grace.” He provides and protects.  This would include “the human species” which he “binds” and heals, and provides “bandages” as needed, like any good Father would!

Which brings me to a story. Someone near and dear to me was “hurt” by an individual, who seemingly mislead her.  She was devastated by the “casual” and “cavalier” attitude of a certain situation. Each one had a totally different view of the situation/relationship…and so she was hurt and devastated.  But, God will provide the bandage, and apply the salve.  This person was “let down” considerably, and extremely disappointed. But, in time, with God’s grace, I’m sure she’ll be okay. With God in her corner, how could she not survive? She is strong, because she is strong in Christ. Although, severely let down, she will survive.

Consequently, God will NEVER LET US DOWN, and He will NEVER DISAPPOINT US.  He is the one constant that we can count on. He supplies the provisions, no matter the circumstances, in which we thrive. He is the constant source of energy and LIFE that brings a forth a surge of LIFE.  He is the light and brings us out of the darkness.

When we feel broken, He will fix.  When we’re emotionally tossed about like a cork in the ocean, God will be the lifeboat. When we’re crying from lonlieness or bereft due to circumstances…He will dry and wipe away our tears, and lift us up. He is our hope and refuge…our calm. He does it all. He is the cultivator of emotions, nature, life, death…everything.  I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things..”  (Isaiah 45:7 KJV)

When we love and serve Him, we do not face the trouble of the world alone. We have an Arbitrator. He is the Lord Jesus Christ.  “Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum; We have such an High Priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens…”  (Hebrews 8:1 KJV) We can be at peace knowing that our Arbitrator is seated at the right hand of God. What a comfort!   When we stay focused on the word, we have nothing to fear. When we are hurting, He’s there…never far, but near. The Mediator is there to step in between us and the world. Talk to Him.  We need our Arbitrator, especially in  these chaotic times.

Our Father is so amazing, so good. He is the best Arbitrator we can hope for. In the Greek language, it means a “go between.” It can also mean intercessor. The Greek word comes from the prime  “MESO” which means in the “middle.”  We have that Arbitrator to help us ALWAYS.

The tabernacle and everything within the tabernacle was intended to show man how to worship and communicate with God. The tabernacle was where man could atone for his sins.  The new tabernacle is Jesus Christ. Our Mediator and Arbitrator. But now hath He obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also He is the Mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. (Hebrews 8:6 KJV) The latter i a better tabernacle, because it is heavenly not earthly. The tabernacle of Moses served a purpose, but the tabernacle of Christ is different…deeper, more personal. The new covenant is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

So, when we are downcast, lonely, frustrated, upset…know we have the greatest Arbitrator and Mediator and Friend on our side.  He binds the broken hearted and provides the bandages, unconditionally. His only request….”OUR LOVE.” And for us to KNOW HIM and observe His ways.

“For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after thos days, saith the LORD; I will put My laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts; and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to Me a people: And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and evey man his brother, saying, know the LORD: for all shall know Me, from the least to the greatest.” (Hebrews 8:10 KJV)

Get to know the one and only GOD and LORD of lords. Our Savior, Jesus Christ. And, when you need a bandage, He’ll provide. Take comfort in His love…

One day evey knee will bow and every tongue will confess Jesus Christ is Lord.

For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.”  (Hebrews 8:12 KJV)

Dear God: We Surrender In Your Hands~

"Then I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the Lord; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God, for they shall return to Me with their whole heart." (Jeremiah 24:7)

“Then I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the Lord; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God, for they shall return to Me with their whole heart.” (Jeremiah 24:7)

I love clouds. The different formations astound and fascinate me.  They change within seconds creating different images as they roll by. Sometimes the clouds can be bilowy and graceful, or look menacing and aggressive.  No matter, I love them all. Why? Because God is the artist, and His hands the master of all things.  This picture was captured while waiting for hubby to finish an errand… I looked up and smiled, knowing it was God who designed it. Clouds are like people. Each one has a different shape, and appearance. People can be light hearted, or dark and menacing.

In the context of clouds, they all belong to a “family” although each one has a “different name.”  Personally my favorite is a “cumulus” cloud. You know the ones that look like big fluffs of marshmallows or cotton candy. These are so beautiful to watch.

People although different in looks are all part of a “family.” We’re all brothers and sisters belonging to God. Some of us have already surrendered to God’s very capable hands.  Some have not, and may never do so. However, irrespective of surrendering, we’re all human and have issues and problems. None of us are protected from a loss, or a hurtful situation. We all go through a medley of issues in our lifetime. Some good, some bad. there’s a balance of highs and lows for everyone. But it’s how we “resolve them” that matters.

God is the same since the beginning of time. He hasn’t changed, and all of His promises that He made to His children still exist to this day. Nothing has changed. He wants us to seek Him., Jesus told us to “take His yoke” for it is easy and the burden light.”  (Matthew 11:30) His promise was true then, and it is now. When we run to Him His righteous hand will uphold and guide us, and make our issues easier. It’s faith that gives us the strength to endure the platitudes of misery. But it’s knowing that He’ll never let us down, and knowing that He’ll  never give us “anything that we can’t handle” that’s the most reasurring of all.  And, most important…He will ALWAYS show us a way out.   Always. How fortunate for those who believe and run to Him. How sad for those who don’t know the infinite peace and joy in knowing He is there for them.

If we could do things on our own, why would we need God?  He’s our everything for anything at all times. He’s our Holy Holy Lord…our Father.  He wants all of His children to love and trust Him. He longs for you to surrender and bow to Him in submission. All good things will flow to you. Blessings will flow. Love will flow.  Life will flow…never ending life.  The living waters will rush out for us to partake in. ” And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.” (Zechariah 14:8)

When we humble ourselves in the Lord, fully surrending He will lift us up. He will lift those who need it. He will exalt the humble. James 4:10 – Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

In all things, seek Him, trust Him fully. Give it to Him, for only God can do all things. Man cannot! We NEED HIM. Go to Him in prayer, and in pure heart and with confidence…He will never forsake you, never leave you. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. (Philippians 4:6).

Seek His face, go to Him with a contrite and loving heart. Accept His will, surrender to His grace. Remember this…In His presence is where we are strong.

And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. ( 2 Corinthians 12:9)

Dear God: We Trust and Have Faith In You~

Today I’m doing something different. I’ve been wanting to have “guest devotionals” for sometime now, so with that being said,  I’ll introduce you to Dannie Hawley!

But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries (Exodus 23:22 KJV)

But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries (Exodus 23:22 KJV)

Dannie Hawley is an amazing woman of courage,  strength, and compassion–and most important she has a heart for God and serves Him fully. She currently serves Him in Africa as a medic missionary. That in itself is incredible…but she’s been blind since 1994 and that didn’t deter her. The voice of God called her and set her life according to His purpose and His will, she chose to say YES.  She hasn’t looked back since and has been helping to save lives with undaunting dedication, completely devoted to the children and people in Africa.  She serves as the Project Director of the Samaritan House. She and Anne-Lise who along with Dannie, serves the people of Africa, as well as being Dannie’s “eyes.”

She has written a book:    Book Cover

This book, “Dealing with our fears when letting go seems impossible” is inspiring and embodies what faith truly is. I highly recommend it!  She’s also in the process of completing her second book. Her second book is about being blind while working in the jungle as Medical Director of Bethlehem Clinic.

When it comes out I’ll post it here for all of my readers so you can rush out to purchase it.  She has a blog site http://www.understandinggod.info/.  Check it out.

Anyhow, she’s written a series “The Question of God and Abandonment” and you can find all the prior posts on her site. However, I’m bringing her final installment series today for my readers to absorb and enjoy.

I will have several guest bloggers in the future. These ladies have been blessed by the Lord with many gifts, especially writing. I’ll be bringing more your way soon.

For now…sit back and enjoy Dannie Hawley’s amazing post.

God Bless you all~

The Adversary at Work in One New Testament Life~ by Dannie Hawley

Job’s calamities all began with Satan challenging God concerning Job’s faithfulness. God gave Satan, the adversary, permission to take all that Job had, but not to hurt him, physically.

Satan countered Job’s victory to honor Almighty God above love of material possessions and family with yet another challenge.  The adversary declared that Job’s love of self would make him deny God when his health failed. God knew better. Permission was granted, but had limits, just as with the first challenge. The adversary could attack Job’s body but not kill him.
As we saw at the end of the two battles, God was pleased with how Job handled the trials. Ultimately, Job was much better off, materially, than before the calamities began.
The story of Job let’s us realize that Satan needs God’s permission to do anything at all to us. We see the adversary in the proper position here, but also in the relative size.
Somehow, folks get the idea that Satan can be everywhere all at once, attacking everyone in the whole world, if he wants. Satan can’t be in more than one place at any one time, just like you and me. He is a created being and is no bigger than any of the other angels God created.
No one thinks that Gabriel, the Archangel who announced that Jesus would be born to Mary and Joseph, can be in more than one place at a time; but, somehow, we can picture the adversary scattered all over the world. This is simply not possible; he is just one created being.
Equally, it is true that Satan does ask permission to attack God’s kids on those days when he is presenting himself before God in Heaven. One such example from the New Testament is found in the Gospel of Luke.
The time of revelation of the permission being granted was at the “Last Supper.” Jesus met with His disciples for the last time; they won’t eat together again until after his resurrection. Jesus said so many mysterious things to the men, but this one really hit home for Peter, who was also called Simon.
“Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.” (Luke 22:31-32)
Within this brief statement we fine four things that Jesus reveals:
1. Satan has asked permission of Father God to sift Peter like wheat. That is to say, to prove that he is not faithful to God, in the same way that the dross falls through the sifting screen and only the pure wheat is left.
2. God has granted the adversary permission. So often our image of God is that he would never grant Satan permission for anything, let alone to attack us. If it’s in God’s plan to help us grow, or to reveal our own heart to us, God may actually grant that permission.
3. Jesus knows that Peter will fail the test.
4. Jesus is praying that Peter will not fall away because of this mistake, but will come back from that and end up being a strength to his brothers, all of whom will also have denied Christ.
Wow, all of that in just those three, short sentences. Yup, all of that.
Of course, Peter’s response is what we would expect of the impetuous follower of Jesus. I can so easily see myself behaving in exactly the same way! It’s Passover celebration. Jesus is there and all is well with the world. Nothing will change how I feel about Jesus; I’d rather die than leave Him.
But he replied, “Lord, I am ready to go with you to prison and to death.” (Luke 22:33)
Me, too, Jesus! Peter just knew that he was as loyal as the summer day was long. No way, even if everyone else abandoned Jesus, the Lord could count on Peter to hang in there and sit in a prison cell, chained with Him against a wall. Jesus knew better, which was why He was praying for Peter and the others.
Jesus answered, “I tell you, Peter, before the rooster crows today, you will deny three times that you know me.” (Luke 22:34)
These must have been painful words coming from Jesus. How could Jesus say that to Peter? Did the Lord not realize just how much Peter loved Him?
That’s exactly the point; Jesus knew Peter better than Peter knew himself. Yes, Peter loved Jesus and wanted to be the person he thought he was already. Jesus knew that serious fear and danger would reveal to Peter just how much he still had to grow. Its little wonder that Peter cried such agonizing tears when, later in that very same chapter, Jesus’ words proved exactly right.
Then seizing him, they led him away and took him into the house of the high priest. Peter followed at a distance. And when some there had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and had sat down together, Peter sat down with them.
A servant girl saw him seated there in the firelight. She looked closely at him and said, “This man was with him.”
But he denied it. “Woman, I don’t know him,” he said.
A little later someone else saw him and said, “You also are one of them.”
“Man, I am not!” Peter replied.
About an hour later another asserted, “Certainly this fellow was with him, for he is a Galilean.”
Peter replied, “Man, I don’t know what you’re talking about!” Just as he was speaking, the rooster crowed. The Lord turned and looked straight at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word the Lord had spoken to him: “Before the rooster crows today, you will disown me three times.”
And he went outside and wept bitterly. (Luke 22: 54-62)
When that rooster crowed, Peter had denied Jesus, not once, but thrice! He hadn’t even noticed the first two times.
Oh my, but I can see myself running away to cry my eyes out somewhere in the dark. I’d be unable to believe that I’d done that right after I had promised to even go to prison or die with Jesus and now, I couldn’t even admit I knew Him? Unbelievable, after all Jesus had done for me. Yup, I totally understood.
Many a preacher has said that the look Jesus gave Peter when the rooster crowed to mark the end of Peter’s denials was one of condemnation. An “I told you so” kind of look. I seriously doubt that this was the way Jesus, Who loved Peter so deeply, felt when he glanced over at Peter.
I believe that Jesus said, in His glance, “Remember, Peter? I told you what happened here. Satan has asked permission to sift you. The adversary sifted you and you’ve fallen through. But, remember Peter, I’m praying for you. I knew you’d not be strong enough to resist this trial, and I’m praying for you. It’s okay. You’ll make it; just repent. And, when you do come back to take your stand for me, strengthen your brothers. They will have all denied me, just as you have, so they will need you to strengthen them. I love you, Peter. It’s okay.”
Jesus made the effort to tell Peter ahead of time that Satan was at the bottom of this; that Peter would lose this battle, but there’d be others. Jesus would pray him through. Don’t give up, Peter! The Lord’s pulling for you!
Think back to what Job went through at the adversaries attacks. That’s the kind of intensity that was hitting Peter to deny Christ at that very time. That helps us to understand better just how Peter could have turned away so soon after declaring his allegiance to Jesus, doesn’t it? This time, the power of the gates of hell did prevail against Peter, but the reason the permission had been granted proved true. Peter did return and, definitely, did strengthen his brothers.
Reading this account, we see the very Person Job longed for when he was going through his own trials. A mediator. At the end of Job Chapter Nine, Job is stating what he needed, but didn’t have; what Peter had, but didn’t know he even needed.
When Job pleaded for someone to “lay his hand upon both of us…to bring us together,”a vivid picture formed in my mind.
God stood on one side of a vast chiasm, and I on the opposite edge. No way could I jump across that gigantic hole. Then, a rugged, wooden cross dropped down to fill the chiasm, one arm rested on each edge.
As I stared at the cross, it changed and, was replaced by the outstretched arms of Jesus. Jesus the Mediator, bridges the gap sin made between God and me; the picture was clear.
Jesus formed that bridge across the chiasm. Jesus is the Mediator Job longed for.
For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus. (I. Timothy 2:5)
Jesus says the same to us today. Yes, the adversary will ask permission to sift us like wheat, but God won’t always grant that permission. No permission, no attack.
However, on those occasions when God does grant Satan permission to sift us, we can be certain that Jesus, our Mediator, is praying for us, too! We might prove strong enough to endure the hardship, as Job did, but most of us are not there yet. Most of us will be more like Peter; we believe that we are faithful and solid in our commitment to Christ, until a trial of temptation comes that knocks us off our pins. Then, we will be devastated, as Peter was, and run from the shame of our betrayal of the Lord. May we also do as Peter did, repent, come back to Jesus with an even stronger loyalty, knowing that we are capable of falling; but that Jesus is willing to receive us again. May we be strengthened by the experience, not bitter that we had so underestimated our fleshly weakness.
Remember; God wants you to succeed in every trial. He’s not out there with a large stick waiting to beat you up when you fail. Jesus is praying you through…either to victory like Job, or repentance and strength as for Peter. You can make it! Jesus is praying for you!

Dear God: Nothing is In Secret~

Your LIght Shines & Chases Away The Darkness

Your Light Shines and Chases Away The Darkness

I will walk within my house with a perfect heart. (Psalm 101:2 )

Psalm 101:2 brings to mind the Saduccees and the Pharisees who wore the long robes, openly prayed and attended Synagogue. They did what was right in “clear sight” of all who would see. Standing on street corners, praying loudly for all to see. And yet these same individuals who called themselves “holy men” of God were considered “hypocrites” by Jesus’ own words. They didn’t have clean thoughts in their hearts towards Jesus, they were harboring evil thoughts, and plotting to be rid of Jesus.  But to look at the so called “holy men” with their tallits and kipahs in full view, you’d never suspect they plotted and schemed in the privacy of their own homes. They waited while observing Jesus. They were trying to trick Him at every turn. But our beloved Savior knew their games and knew their hearts. So they watched Him closely, whether He would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse Him. (Mark 3:2)

He saw everything they did “in secret” as did His Father…our amazing Sovereign God.  God sees all. He’s a cardio knower. He reads our hearts, knows our minds. Accepts and loves us with all of His heart. He hates “sin” but, He doesn’t hate the person. So, nothing can be in secret. He sees it. Jesus is grieved by an unrepentant heart.  He can get angry (as in His Father’s house when they were selling mite infested doves, and bargaining. He called them out in a powerful way. Over turning their tables, and with a knotted whip) and he can become grieved. So too His/our Father.  And when He had looked around at them with anger, being grieved by the hardness of their hearts…(Mark 3:5)

So, when we’re in our homes safely tucked away from the world, do we still behave in a “godly manner?” It’s one thing to behave in a godly way in public, when so many eyes are watching. It’s another to reflect His goodness and righteous and loving behavior where family members can see. God definitely calls us to both.

Our Father loves us, and calls us to certain standards and practices in His name. He wants every part of us–body and soul, and spirit–to grow close to Him. He wants those that will gladly and freely give everything to Him. Surrendering to Him at His will and joined and grafted in His love. Bless he Lord, O my soul;and all that is within me, bless His holy name! (Psalm 103:1)

He wants us to love Him. He wants our love. He knows our weaknesses, and of our ignorance in certain areas. He doesn’t require anything more than which we can handle.   When you seek His face and His strength, things will come back to you. He will bless you accordingly, in abundance. We cannot outgive God. God’s word is pregnant…it grows and grows. The more we seek, the more we see and know. Seek the Lord and His strength; seek His face evermore!  (Psalm 105:4)

When we do our good deeds we don’t need to announce them to the world, or blow a trumpet saying, “look at me” – God sees and will reward us openly. He keeps a careful tally of our actions, both public and private. Our actions should be with a contrite and loving heart, and with a complete obedience to the Father. And, this is something that should be done both in and out of our homes.  …And your Father who see in secret will Himself reward you openly.   (Matthew 6:4)

Trust in God and know that His will and His intent toward us are always in our best interest. He set up this world so that a real element of faith is always required in order to connect with Him. Never doubt His love or His ability to sustain us in all things.  When they saw Him, they worshipped Him; but some doubted.  (Matthew 28:17)

When we live a life of purpose according to His will…we will be better for it.  When we consult Him in prayer for decisions, or for an upcoming event…the outcome will be blessed. When we observe His laws, and His doctrine both inside and outside our homes…we will thrive. We can always bring Jesus’ truth to the world because we have Jesus’ divine powers and Spirit to solidfy(back it up) at all times.

Our job is to work inside and outside our homes in accordance to His gospel. To be a faithful messenger to others, His job is to prosper His word.  Amen.

Dear God: We Know Where We’re Going~

ducksJesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.  (John 14:6 KJV)

Do you have all of your ducks in a row? Do you know where you’re going when you die?

I had a dream recently in which I was a game show contestant. It was a Christian show, and the host was a big tall man in white, with a booming voice.  He kept asking, “Do you have all of your ducks in a row? Do you know where you’re going when you die?”

That question shouldn’t cause any kind of fear to the average Christian. No, instead, an overwhelming assurance should envelop one’s soul. The answer should be a resounding, “YES.”

Jesus Christ tells us:  Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” (John 3:5)   The words of Christ assure us that “we have our ducks in a row,” so to speak. And, as we walk in His commandments we can be certain of His promises, and His love. To know that we are going to be with Him for all eternity.Jesus is the foundation of our being, in which we were born, when He redeemed all of us, through His blood, crucifixion, death, and his resurrection. By accepting Him, as our Lord and Savior, we’re essentially “born” of the Spirit. And, by accepting Him as the only begotten Son of God, we will live forever. It is through Jesus that we may know our Father. It is by seeking and submitting to His Son that we are accepted in our Father’s eyes. Jesus is the way, and those who know Him although they are dead, shall live…

Thank you Jesus , for saving us, loving us, and for being our FRIEND

This is my commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you.Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.” (John 15:12-15 KJV)

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.  (Matthew 28:20 KJV)

Do you have your ducks in a row?

Dear God: You Are Our Vine~

branch

When Jesus spoke to His disciples in the upper room, He tried to explain in metaphorical illustrations the relationship and roles in which they connect.  He is the Vine, and the sustenance for our growth. He is the “life-line” in which we breathe. He illustrated with love and patience that which He intended their role to be…and the Spiritual connection in which they/we are tied

As the fruit comes forth due to the growth in His Spirit, we begin to process things differently. We see and think in His mind-set, we want to be at favor with God, and in so doing…we grow. We bear fruits of the Spirit.

The Father will prune our branches which essentially will replenish and bring forth even more fruit. Jesus warns us about the “tares” and reminds us many times, that “you will know them by their fruits.”  Jesus’ words ring true as we look around in the news and see the proliferation of evil.  Look at some of the headlines as of late, and you’ll be staring into the face of evil, and consequently, “rotten fruit.”  When the Lord prunes our branches, it is necessary for growth. We cannot bear fruit without Jesus…We need Him to bring about the change and growth. So, He is the “Pruner” as well as our Vine. He has to prune in order for us to be productive in His purpose.

These are the “end days” and we are in a generation of no return. As we go forward in obedience to God, we prepare and surrender to His will.  For those of us who are following Him, and honoring Him, and seeking His face…we are growing in Him.   We become knitted together, and entwined in His love, and peace of mind stays with us, even in these chaotic- end days.

Christ is our foundation, we are the branches as we grow in His Spirit. It becomes apparent and things of the world fall away. We look to higher aspirations, we cry Abba Father as we seek to get nearer to the Lord. “Draw nigh to God, and He will draw Nigh to you.” (James 4:8)

His Son, Jesus Christ came looking for us in love, to save us….to bring us eternal salvation. He is the way, He is the light, He is the truth.  The path is narrow…and the vine is firmly planted, the fruit that comes forth will tell it all.

Christ is the sustenance in which we need to thrive. He is that which we need to cling to in order to survive and gorw.

We should look foward to His pruning shears, and His corrections, as a child needs discipline from their earthly father…so we need from our heavenly Father.

We need to hear and understand His word and His purpose for our lives. We are cleansed by His blood.   In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God  (John 1:1)

His living water allows me to drink,  and the vine sustains our needs as branches bear copious fruits. We pray to be pleasing and produce an abundance of fruit, bearing His pefection within us.  Through Him, and in Him…all things are rewarded and we are only strong and vital in Christ. Without Him, we wither, and dry up, and become chaff in the wind.

Is your fruit pleasing to God?

I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. ( John 15:1)

Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.  (John 15:2)

Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. (John 15:3)

4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. (John 15:4)

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. (John 15:5)

If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. (John 15:6)

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.  (John 15:7)
