He gives power to the weak,
And to those who have no might He increases strength.
Even the youths shall faint and be weary,
And the young men shall utterly fall,
But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
And to those who have no might He increases strength.
Even the youths shall faint and be weary,
And the young men shall utterly fall,
But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.
Isaiah 40:29-31 NKJV
Whatever happens in our life is essentially happening in our “eternity.” Think about that for a moment. The consequences of how we live and what we believe will ultimately be the determining factor in our “eternity.”
I heard a disturbing statistic this morning that I wish to share with my fellow Christians. A news station proclaimed in a perfunctory tone that 89% of the population do not believe in God. And, comprised of that 89% were individuals under thirty years old. I was floored!
I ‘m aware that behavior has been deteriorating and progressing rapidly to a modern day Babylon before our very eyes. However, I didn’t realize the depths of debauchery had penetrated society in such a malevolent wave. The uproarious and hideous stain of sin that is being exemplified through media, computers and everything in between. It was staggering to hear this figure, although it may be somewhat skewed…the impact is jarring nonetheless.
The promises of GOD holds true today. It doesn’t matter that modern technology is rampant within our veins. The Bible is God’s words, and His word is everlasting. So, it doesn’t matter if we lived in the fifties, sixities or right now- His word is the same. Laws are to protect us. God made the laws in His commandments. Oh – really? Do you really want to go there? YES!
Think about it. Stealing – it’s a crime. “thou shall not steal.” Sound familiar?
Murdering someone is a crime “thou shall not kill.” Hmmm? Who said that?
Saying vicious things about someone. “thou shall not bear false witness against someone.” See?
We know the rest of the commandments.
And, the same goes for honoring your mother and father…God promises a long life to those who do. He’s not happy with those who do not honor their parents. Think about that the next time you treat your parent with careless disregard.
The point is – the book is a relevant guide to being prosperous and happy in our lives. Our life can be ideal and we could be blessed by God if we adhere to His words. It’s a format for our course in this world. This current world in which depravity and reality shows have reached an all time high. This current world in which the sentisity values have lessened, almost diminishing while viewing Youtube videos of senseless beatings of homeless people, or a gang of students beating up ONE student. Violence begets violence. It’s shockingly revolting.
And, sexual immorality has now become a common practice whereas saving “oneself” for marriage has become a sign of abnormality, and a stigma. The common thing is to live with each other, give it a test drive before marrying…and laughter when someone sticks to their values and beliefs is a sure thing.
God has to be very sad and very disappointed at the behavior of His children. He warns us over and over in His book, giving guidance, assurance of His promises and stipulations, and outlines the consequences of all aspects pertaining to our lives. We have a purpose here on earth. We are here for a reason.
It’s sad when things that are happening in this world right now, the unrest, the famine, the abuse that ravages so many is painfully abundant in its entirety…yet takes a back seat to most of the ME generation of oblivion. The ME generation of making noise without making sense.
Sad, so sad. I sometimes wonder if the rain falling from heaven is the Lord’s tears crashing down upon His misguided children. It’s never too late to recognize our Soveriegn and loving God. It’s never too late while we’re here to acknowledge His words, and walk the righteous path of acceptance in His eyes. It’s never too late to love Him and take the time to get to know Him before He meets you and says, “And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ Matthew 7:23 NKJV
Do you care what man thinks? Or do you care what God thinks? The choice is yours…
“The poor and needy seek water, but there is none,
Their tongues fail for thirst.
I, the Lord, will hear them;
I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them.
18 I will open rivers in desolate heights,
And fountains in the midst of the valleys;
I will make the wilderness a pool of water,
And the dry land springs of water.
19 I will plant in the wilderness the cedar and the acacia tree,
The myrtle and the oil tree;
I will set in the desert the cypress tree and the pine
And the box tree together,
20 That they may see and know,
And consider and understand together,
That the hand of the Lord has done this,
And the Holy One of Israel has created it.
Their tongues fail for thirst.
I, the Lord, will hear them;
I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them.
18 I will open rivers in desolate heights,
And fountains in the midst of the valleys;
I will make the wilderness a pool of water,
And the dry land springs of water.
19 I will plant in the wilderness the cedar and the acacia tree,
The myrtle and the oil tree;
I will set in the desert the cypress tree and the pine
And the box tree together,
20 That they may see and know,
And consider and understand together,
That the hand of the Lord has done this,
And the Holy One of Israel has created it.
Isaiah 41:17-20 NKJV
“For My people are foolish,
They have not known Me.
They are silly children,
And they have no understanding.
They are wise to do evil,
But to do good they have no knowledge.”
They have not known Me.
They are silly children,
And they have no understanding.
They are wise to do evil,
But to do good they have no knowledge.”
Jeremiah 4:22 NKJV
And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
