Dear God: We Are Led By The Spirit~

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

People often ask “why don’t you post every single day?”  My response always remains the same, “I am led by the Spirit. So, if the Lord doesn’t place it in my heart for a post, I don’t do it.”

To be more specific, if I write my own words and thoughts it becomes about me…and not about Him. So I wait on the Lord for the inspiration.  I follow the Spirit.  I am led by the Spirit, not by self.

For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.  Romans 8:15 (NKJV)  In living for God, our Abba Father, and walking according to the Spirit we can do all things.  We can minister to those in a Christ-like fashion. Of course, trying to perfect our image with each passing moment.

When someone “births” an idea, it is from God.  He gives each of us the ability to discover new things all the time.  We each have special God given talents, and if we are to hone them to perfection, we need the Holy Spirit to help us.  We cannot do this on our own.   “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding” Proverbs 3:5 (NKJV)

As children of God, we are His bundle of joy so to speak.  He created us for His pleasure.  And, He loved us and knew us before we were in our mother’s womb. So it stands to reason that God wants to help us, to guide us, and to love us.  And, He wants us to consult Him on everything throughout the course of our day.

Yes, He gives us free will – because God doesn’t want us to be robots in our love for Him. He wants a true heart after His heart, that seeks His face and His kingdom all the days of our life. A true and obedient child in love and adoration for our Father. The Spirit is our comforter that gives us wisdom, strength and all that we need twenty-four hours a day.  All we have to do is have the ability to converse with Him, meditate on His word and LOVE HIM.

“And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God..”  Ephesians 6:17 (NKJV)

As we dress in the morning, make sure you put on your the most important clothes for the day.  Your helmet of salvation, and the full armor of the gospel with your sword held highAnd, be led by Him…and His ways, not ours.  For to be led by Him is to live in peace and to live forever.

Thank you Lord for my outfit in which you clothe me each day…And, for your words that feed me.  And for your Spirit that leads me.

Do you have on your powerful clothes today in the Name of Jesus Christ?  And are you walking after His Spirit?  If so, you shall be called “the sons of God.”  Amen and Amen.

John 16:13 (NKJV) However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

Romans 8:26 (NKJV)    Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groaning which cannot be uttered.

Romans 8:5 (NKJV)

For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.

As many of you are aware, I am blessed to have been given the gift of writing from the Lord.  And, it is used in all facets.  In fact, I go where He leads me.  I write my “devotional posts” online.  And, I only come when it is directed, and the Lord places the writing in my heart. That is why, you will notice, there isn’t a DAILY post.  I only post as He leads me.

He gave me the calling for writing, most of my life.  However my online ministry was about a year ago.  And, the books just about a year and a half.

I felt it in my heart to place this newest addition on my website.  I wasn’t sure about doing it.  But, the Lord put it so strongly in my heart.  In obedience I follow his direction.

Anyhow…all the glory and honor and praise go to the Lord.  Thank you God for your constant flow of wisdom, guidance, and inspiration.  I could not do ANY of this WITHOUT YOU.

I pray I make You proud.

I love you God…Thank you!

Dear God: Changed From the Inside Out~

May The Peace of Jesus Christ Reign in Your Hearts~

Just a quick not to say “Thank you” to the Lord for giving me the inspiration for yet another two books.  If not for His love, grace and guidance…it never could have transpired.

The book is available on all major online bookstores.
It tells of the transformation that took place in my heart and life…through the Lord Jesus Christ.

There are affirmations, life lessons, and just the love of Jesus Christ on every page.

Thank you God.  All Glory, and Honor and Praise go to you my Father, my God.  I love you. Amen~

John 15:3-5 (KJV)   “Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.  Abide in me, and I in you.  As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye  are the branches. He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit for without me, ye can do nothing.”

Dear God: Happy Father’s Day~

Isaiah 63:16 (NKJV) “…You, O Lord, are our Father; Our Redeemer from Everlasting is Your name.”

Life, if we are fortunate, consists of many Father’s Day celebrations. And, for those of us who had an amazing earthly father, it makes it exceedingly  special to celebrate and honor your dad, all the more.

I was one of the fortunate ones.  I had an earthly daddy that was superior in all facets of being a dad.  He was human, of course…but he was spectacular at it while he was here on earth with me and our family in his flesh body. I was so proud of him, and I know God was too!

He was compassionate, kind, giving, and loving towards his family.  So protective of us…like a lion watching over us.  Yet, he was a gentle teddy bear when it came to his children and wife.  A devoted dad, husband, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and loving son to his parents.  His sense of humor was full of wit, with a michievous, yet playful delivery. And he loved pleasing us, always with a smile on his handsome face.

He knew how to teach us right from wrong.  Taught us invaluable life lessons through the years.  And, he never harbored a grudge against any of us children, if we didn’t “learn right away.”  He was patient, and wise in his ways. All of the time. He was a gem.

He had great faith in God, going to church, and setting good morales and standards for us to follow. And, I was so lucky to have had him for as many years as I did.  All of us, remember him and miss him…but we rejoice knowing he is with His Father, our Lord in heaven.

Our Father in heaven is all of the things my earthly dad was and more.  For He made us in His image, and He created us.  That includes, a sense of humor, and a loving heart filled with compassion.  So, my dad was comprised of that which the Lord created…and so he has and was.  Thank you Lord.

Our God, our loving Abba Daddy – is the Father of us all.  He is loving, kind, compassionate, forgiving...and consists of so many luminous facets that it is hard for us to fathom most times.  We know He is an infallible Sovereign God, who loves us, His children with all of His might.  He loves us more than anyone has ever loved us, or could hope to love us.

His tender and loving hands are always extended to us.  He is always with us.  He is NEVER away. Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.  Second by second…from our first breath to our very last.  And, then we will live with Him for all eternity. How amazing is that?

Today, Father’s day, as we honor our earthly dad with thanks and love… don’t lose sight of the important One in heaven. Let us honor our Father in heaven, first, and foremost.

His Holy ways and loving significance…Give Him all honor and praise.  Worship Him with all of your heart, might, mind and soul.  Recognize Him for the Magnificent Lord, and God that He is.  Through Him all things can be accomplished.  Through Him, we were born.  Through Him we can set forth on a path of righteousness as we seek His Kingdom.  Through Him we are offered salvation from the blood of His Son, our Savior…the Lord Jesus Christ.

But, most of all, He is the One who loves us beyond all reasoning or understanding.  So, for that, and so much morethank you. Thank you for your love.

Thank you for sending me the most incredible earthly dad any little girl could have ever wanted. Lord, can you tell my daddy “hi” for me, and that I “miss him?”

Oh and one more thing…

I love you Abba Daddy.  Happy Father’s day~

===========================================================

Luke 11:2-4 (NKJV) Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. your kingdom come.  your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us day by day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins, For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one.”

Luke 11:-13 (NKJV) “If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or is he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish?  Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?  If you then being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”

John 5:20-23 (NKJV) For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel.  For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will.  For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgement to the Son, that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.”

Dear God: Where You Plant Us There We Will Bloom~

Peace with God is the fruit of oneness with God.  We are as strong as our ties to our Lord. “The Lord will give strength to His people; The Lord will bless His people with peace.” Psalm 29:11 (NKJV)

Psalm 1:3 (NKJV) He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.

God will provide all of the strength we need for any given circumstances that will come up in our lifetime.

He is the anchor that propels us to go forward. He will never forsake us or turn away from us. He is our rock and salvation.

We, as Christians sometimes feel we are not doing enough.  Or, that we are not in a position to do anything for others.  There are countless reasons some feel as if they are not doing enough.  Some of the excuses I’ve heard consist of, “I’m not able to get out, I’m busy.” Or, “I don’t belong to a church, so I can’t do anything.” Or, “I cannot organize anything to help others.”

While all of the above reasons may be valid, they really don’t mean anything in terms of being a Christian. Take the first one –I’m not able to get out, I’m busy. Well not everyone has a huge block of time.  But, there is always time for a kind word for someone.  Or for a seed to be planted along your busy road.  Sometimes that is ALL that is needed to be productive in terms of being a Christian. God sees your heart and intent, and it doesn’t go unnoticed.

Okay, now the second one- I don’t belong to a church, so I can’t do anything. No excuse.  We are all ONE in the church of Jesus Christ. The true church.  And, we can do something.  We can offer help to someone that is lost. We can lend an ear to someone who needs to vent.  We can offer advice to someone who doesn’t understand how to climb out of the situation they are currently in. Again, God sees your heart and intent, and it doesn’t go unnoticed. “…but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.” Matthew 6:18 (NKJV)

And the third – I cannot organize anything to help others. How about the person on your block who needs help moving?  Or the elderly woman who needs someone to do her grocery shopping?  Or, the recently widowed individual who is overwhelmed with anxiety and grief – He/she may need an uplifting word, and encouragement.  This is the strongest foundation of being a Christian and good neighbor or friend.  Helping others, we help and clothe and feed Jesus. “…for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in…” Matthew 25:35 (NKJV)

“…Assuredly, I say to you inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.” Matthew 25:40 (NKJV)

The Lord brings you to where you are, and there you shall be. If he plants you somewhere, He will expect you to bloom in place.  Sometimes, I see a beautiful flower among the weeds.  Or a single flower coming out of a cracked pavement in the middle of a busy road. Or a couple of flowers coming through a fence.  The Lord in His infinite wisdom and power and love brings it there for a reason.  He set it there to bloom!  Just like us.  If He wants and of us  to bloom…we will bloom.

The nourishment is the Word of God.  The fertile ground in which we plant our seeds will either bring forth the fruits…or it will be choked

God is astoundingly fair, and so loving.  He provides so many opportunities for us every single day.  When we wake up and give thanks for another day to the Lord…it is another opportunity to go forward and help others bloom.

Your heart is an open book to the Lord our God. He sees all, and He will provide the foundation upon which we will build our relationships with others. “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock.” Matthew 7:24 (NKJV)

God will bring you comfort, provide all that you need…and He will guard you heart. “…and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Jesus Christ.” Philippians 4:7 (NKJV).

The next time WE all think or say, what can I possibly do from here? Let’s not forget that if God plants you somewhere, THERE YOU SHALL BLOOM.

“The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in men, these do and the God of peace will be with you.” Philippians 4:9 (NKJV)

“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.” Colossians 4:15 (NKJV)

Dear God: You Can Repair Anything~

Psalm 121:8 (NKJV) “The Lord will keep your going out and coming in.”

About four weeks ago while driving my reliable Camry I heard a grinding noise. Hmm?  What could that be I wondered.  But, then forgot about it.  All went well.  However, the “grinding noise” which was annoying, but seemed non threatening, was there again.  It was hard to pinpoint.  It was intermittent, and seemed to have no pattern.  It appeared when it wanted to.

Again, forgot all about it, until it became a little more of a concern.  I went on an errand with my little “baby boy” Max, and when I paused at a stop sign, so did the car.  But, not really a pause.  It seemed to be trying to get into gear, I heard the sound going, but the car wasn’t!  Okay, now it was a little more than a mere concern.  I didn’t want to break down. But, after a moment it went into gear!  Thanks God!

So, I kept pushing it out of my head, but everything in my heart and soul screamed, “transmission!”   Subconsciously, I guess I pushed it from my mind. Plus, I didn’t mention it to my husband.  Well, I did just didn’t elucidate too much. However, now we both knew it had to be looked at.

After much thought, it was brought to my service shop. And after an emotional “up and down dance” of- could be transmission fluid is needed…to- perhaps there is a leak somewhere…to- it shouldn’t be that expensive.  Well, the final dance/diagnosis?  Yep! As I thought all along, hello transmission. But, that was just the tip of the old proverbial iceberg.  It needed to be patched up. There were several leaks, and it needed a timing belt as well!  So, it is now in the shop awaiting parts.  And, when I heard the outcome I thought of something else. It was something akin to a person without God in their life.  My car was broken, and in need of repair.  If I didn’t take it to the shop it would stay broken.  Obviously it would be immobile. Subsequently, without God you might say we’re immobile.

For example, while an individual is  going along and doing every day things. Our life may run smooth for awhile, but then a bump in the road happens to come along. It will slow a person down for sure.  And then, another bump.  It will slow you down yet again.  Or the worst case scenario…something breaks!   What now?

Just like my car needs a new transmission, and needs fixing.  When a soul is without guidance or faith, it is in need of repair.  Consequently, it will be out of commission.  Our Lord is our “mechanic” the Master mechanic.  His hands will be able to fix the very souls He created.  Who better than the Master himself? Our souls may need a “make-over.”  Or a “fresh touch” from the Master.

A bump in the road can be small, or huge.  But, your relationship and faith in God, will be the determining factor in how quickly we can be repaired.
Our “transmission” may be out of order, or we may be leaking and not retaining the Living waters of Christ.  We need to go into His service shop.  We need to bring our entire “car into His shop for a loving repair.  And, only He can get us running smoothly again.  Only His hands can fix our inadequate and broken pieces.

He will keep our transmission flowing smoothly.  He will supply all of our needs.  He will keep our “going out and going in” and will fix whatever is broken. We cannot run without water, or food.  That is His two MAIN supplies that He gives in loving abundance!

Whatever you need…He has.  He is able to lift your heaviness.  He will give you a garment of praise, and He will bring joy into your life. He will anoint your head with the oil of joy. Having God in our heart is to know peace. Having God in our life, is to have direction and strength.  Having God in our corner when we are in need of repair…priceless.

Thank you Lord.  How about the rest of you?  Are you in need of a “tune-up?”   Take it to your Master…

Psalm 45:7 (NKJV)  “You love righteousness and hate wickedness;
Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You
With the oil of gladness more than Your companions.”

Psalm 45:6 (NKJV) “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever;
A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.”

Isaiah 61:3 (NKJV)” “…To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”

Psalm 147:3 (NKJV)    “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”

Psalm 121:7 (NKJV) “The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life.”

Dear God: We Will Never Fear…Your Covenant is Forever~

“…I pray, Lord God of heaven, O great and awesome God, You who keep Your covenant and mercy with those who love You and observe Your commandments, please let Your ear be attentive and Your eyes open, that You may hear the prayer of Your servant which I pray before You now…” Nehemiah 1:4-6 (NKJV)

God provides all things at all times. He is with us always, even when He isn’t too pleased with what we might be doing. Yes, He loves us nonetheless. He is unconditional in His love and unmerited favor and grace, towards His children. He established His covenant with us…and He will always KEEP it. It will, and shall stand forever, through all the ages and beyond. Those of us, who observe and keep His commandments, will always have His blessings…and favor.

All you have to do is “ask” and it shall be yours. “Knock” and it shall be opened. “Seek” and you shall find. Love Him with all of your mind, all of your might, and all of your heart. He loves us. He loves when we love Him in return. And, we can NEVER out give God. We can never understand the depths of His love for us. The level of expanse knowledge is limitless to God. His wisdom is so far and above our comprehension. His ways, in His time. That is all we need to know. He is our one and only Living God.  Our purpose for everything and His voice is all we need to hear.

Nowhere in the Scripture does God tell any one of His children to “hurry” and make a quick decision. He never will operate that way. The enemy wants us to “act immediately” on our own accord. We must always realize, we cannot do anything on our own.  We need to pull back and give it to God. Then, wait upon our Lord and Savior’ perfect timing. It always makes sense.

Sometimes, we may never know the reason why certain things in our lives transpire. The reason behind heartaches, or tragic circumstances that affect some. Or, why some lead an idyllic life seemingly unscathed. The reasons may not be ours to learn in this lifetime. All we need to know is, God is always with us through it all, no matter the circumstances.

And this brings me to the reason the Lord led me here today. I want to share a story about a very special woman. A woman, the Lord led me to through our mutual love of writing for God. And, a woman, whom I am so blessed to have been connected to, thanks to God. Her name is Dannie Hawley. She and I met through Faithwriters forum.

Dannie is a one of a kind. And an outstanding lady. A lady, whom the Lord has chosen to do His work. A lady that Gods’ hands are upon now, and probably has been her whole life. She is an advanced nurse practitioner, specializing in pediatrics…and serving the Lord, in Africa. She not only is a gifted human being in her outstanding practices of answering her call to serve selflessly… but, in addition to her myriad of God given talents, is an outstanding writer as well. Her stories are full of heart and soul. They have a gravitating pull, managing to touch the heart of the reader, time and time again. Filled with wit, suspense and humor, she gets the story across in a powerful way; while providing a prolific and riveting message each and every time.It is apparent that God is providing the inspiration and the Words for her stories, every single one of them.

Dannie’s words ignite the reader, and propel them into a glimpse of her world. A world that is hard to imagine, but one that she lives everyday.  Serving as a missionary medic is outstanding in itself. But, what truly is beyond amazing is… she is blind. She went fully blind after serving four years in Africa. She didn’t run home. She didn’t panic. She didn’t become a “poor me baby.” Instead, she spoke to God, and asked questions. Asked for guidance. And, knew instinctually she was destined to continue. In the dark…but always in the light.

God is there providing in so many ways. Dannie, and her friend- Anne-Lise, had to restructure their way of doing things together. Anne-Lise became her “sight” while the Lord provided “vision” for them both. The countless hours of adjusting to a sightless world, while examining babies and speaking to the families. Traveling in the dangerous jungle. Learning to adapt to the “sounds,” more than the sights, was precarious in itself…throw in a panther and a green mamba or two to see how precarious it really can be!

God provides. God strengthens. God watches. God anoints. And, God is certainly doing all of that with Dannie. A completely amazing woman of God. Obedient to her Lord and Savior. Walking and healing in the name of Jesus Christ. Being on call to His instructions, and His will. All with a smile and a positive mindset to all who come in contact with her.

She wrote a book, that is probably but a microcosm of her world. But, it is a fascinating and thrilling read. It touched me, blessed me…and made me cry. It also solidified how great Gods’ hands and ways are. How our Sovereign God is always with His “children.” How His plans are perfect. And, how much He loves us.

Her book…”Dealing With Our Fears – When Letting Go Seems Impossible” is an MUST read. This compelling book will let anyone see how tenacious God is, and when He touches a heart… how strong a person can become. The cover itself is an inspiration. And, Dannie explains the inspiration for the cover in her book. I won’t give it away, for it will give you goosebumps for sure.

In closing…no matter how harsh the circumstances are in our life, God in His infinite power will provide. He will give us what we need, when we need it. He will supply the strength and ability to forge forward. He is a God of truth, Love, and promises that will never be broken. His covenant to us, His children…still stands today as it did yesterday, and will tomorrow and forever.

And, if you don’t believe me…open His book He wrote to us. The Holy Bible. He will show you through His words, and actions, just how much He loves us.

And, then…open Dannie Hawley’s epic story/book. That will bring God home to your heart for sure. Amen.

Dear God: To You We Sing Our Praises…Weary No More~

“So the ransomed of the LORD shall return, And come to Zion with singing, With everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness; Sorrow and sighing shall flee away.” Isaiah 51:11

My Lord you are our Shepherd and we hear your voice.  You refresh us and bring us your Word, and truths. We are never weary in your presence. We are fresh, renewed and filled with Your love.

Today, as I always do… as soon as I opened my eyes,  I thanked You for another day.  And, for Your unmerited grace. Then, I began to unwind in Your presence and love.  Looking out in my yard I saw the beauty of Your handiwork.  From the green lush grass, to the scattered flowers in an array of  colors. To the tall luscious Fir trees, so tall and strong in appearance.

The blue sky and an abundance of cumulus clouds floated above.  They were so huge, I felt I could almost grasp them with my fingertips.  A sweet flowerly aroma tickled my nostrils, as birds sang nearby…all created by You.

Your beauty, Your handiwork, Your love apparent through all things. The world is Yours. You were, are, and always will be God…Our refiner.  The One who touches us all day long in many different ways. Through love, guidance and Words. Through reflection, meditation.  Or with a phrase, a saying…a thought.

While in church today, praising and worshipping you.  I felt your presence so strongly.  You were all around. From the little girl in the white flowered dress hugging her mom, to the older lady in the wheelchair smiling so wide.  From the little boy crying in his dad’s arms, to the sophisticated lady in the front pew with the penetrating gray eyes. You were there, in all of us.  Your creations all coming together. All of us with one goal…to worship and love you Lord.

Just as I thought it couldn’t get any better, I was touched by You further.  A voice straight from heaven started to sing a worship hymn.  I was so overwrought with emotions the tears flowed, wetting my entire face.  And, they fell in abundance as the angel kept singing in praise to You my God.  I felt Your presence and it was overwhelming, and moving.  And, it was peaceful, and reverent.  She sang acappella.  Her voice reaching to the very heights of heaven and back again.  Yes, it was You Lord.  Your gift, the voice you gave to this angel singing in church, was there to reach and touch our hearts.  I was blessed by it, and I pray so were others.  All I know is that moment was beyond description. Thank you Lord.

I went over to hug the lady, Marion.  I told her she blessed me and touched me with her “God given beautiful voice” She smiled and hugged me back.  And, said, “I am thrilled, and so blessed the Lord has given me this gift to touch others…you’ve made my day.”   I replied, “And God has made mine.”

When you walk around, notice God’s presence.  Be it in the older lady sitting next to you in church, or on line at the supermarket.  Or the smile of a little girl. Your neighbor saying hello, or offering to help.  A little dog wagging its tail. The flowers in your yard, and the cumulus clouds in the sky.  The voice of an “angel” singing in praise to the Lord.  All signs of God’s presence, His Awesome nature and Power… and His love.

We feel Him, but sometimes we feel Him even stronger than other days.  And, for those days when you are weary, discouraged, or down.  Look around, and know He is with you.  Just look around.

And, then touch your heart… for He lives in there always.
