Psalm 90:1 Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations.

Psalm 15 is a profound passage that outlines the characteristics of a person who dwells in the presence of God. It serves as a guide for living a life that is pleasing to the Lord.

“O Lord, who shall sojourn in your tent? Who shall dwell on your holy hill? He who walks blamelessly and does what is right and speaks truth in his heart; who does not slander with his tongue and does no evil to his neighbor, nor takes up a reproach against his friend; in whose eyes a vile person is despised, but who honors those who fear the Lord; who swears to his own hurt and does not change; who does not put out his money at interest and does not take a bribe against the innocent. David begins by asking the Lord who may dwell in His sanctuary and live on His holy hill. This sets the stage for the qualities that follow, emphasizing the importance of living for the LORD and following His commandments.

It illustrates and emphasizes the virtues and moral standards that would be acceptable to the LORD. It can serve as an inner introspection challenging us to assess our lives and look deeply within ourselves. How we might be a reflection or shine the light of Christ from within to without.

Though it may seem daunting, it is not beyond reach, as God provides grace to live righteously. Meditating on the Word and speaking to the LORD daily – we are able to gain access to His love, promises and protection – along with His guidance that will enable us to live a forthright life, that will ultimately please Him.

It serves as a reinforcement of Christianity, and the way we might be able to live our lives according to His purpose and will for all of us. While we are here it is for a reason-and it would behoove us to scoop deep within the confines of our hearts and see how we may serve Him daily.

To walk uprightly brings countless blessings. Aside from pleasing God – which we all want to do, He won’t withhold any blessings from you, as stated in Psalm 84:11.

Aside from being unshakable and immovable, the upright are pleasing to God. Psalm 84:11 says He won’t withhold any good thing from those who walk uprightly. Nothing will be impossible for those who purpose to keep His commandments and stay out of sin.

The LORD’s promises are ever faithful as is His mercy and love. Walking in His commandments and His Will is what we need to ascribe to and when we do- we are victorious through Christ – and that is a good life for sure!
